Cold Stone Creamery

1.0

By JEM4612 at Citysearch

Took my husband to Cold Stone Creamery in Woodfield Mall last night for ice cream since he loves ice cream and I love mix-ins. We were so disappointed! The young man that was behind the counter was SO RUDE! I have gotten better customer service, oh, just about everywhere else I have gone. Plus, $4.58 for a medium ice cream scoop with only 1 mix in in a disposable bowl? Really?? Will not be going back here again. With "premium" prices like that, you should at least not have to deal with a sullen, cranky teen behind the counter. \t\n ...read more

Milan Chat N Sweets

1.0

By abi3927 at Citysearch

Milan used to be good years ago and was extremely busy. Now they are not that good. Additionally the serving staff shows an attitude which is unacceptable. I think it is the owner (female). Try Sukhadia's opposite the street at the corner of Golf and Gannon. Milan should take a lesson from these professionals.\t\nLast time I went to Milan for a quick snack I was told to go to an ATM and bring cash for my $9 check or to spend atleast $15 to pay by cc. Guess what I did? Took my business to Sukhadia's and they had no problem with cc.\t\nAlso at a neighborhood desi party last weekend everyone had something to say regarding the attitude at Milan. STAY AWAY from this place. ...read more

4 Things Customers Want From Modern Businesses

Customers are spoiled for choice when it comes to modern shopping. There are thousands of solutions for their needs that they can find in an instant, and if they don't find what they're looking for or don't like what they see, they can back out and pick another option immediately. Give customers what they want to ensure your business runs smoothly in the modern age. Not only will this keep users happy, but a few adjustments will help you generate more leads and compare favorably to the competition. Answers – Immediately When customers click on your homepage, contact page, or blog, they want answers right away. To keep customers happy in this department, do the following: Prioritize readability: Avoid filler, write in an F-shaped pattern, and use subheadings and bulleted lists to make content more readable. Give customers what they're looking for. The content you show first should be exactly what customers came to see. For example, the contact information on your contact page should be provided right away with no scrolling required. Optimize load times: Pages that are slow to load have a higher bounce rate. This also affects your ranking on search engines. Privacy and Security Privacy and security are paramount in a digital age, especially if you store customer information in the cloud. Make sure customer information is always secure and consider investing in cyber insurance — in addition to a liability policy — to help you deal with any data breaches. If you use a service like AWS S3 to store data, make sure you're following all the security best practices. Moreover, you must keep your software up to date, safeguard your passwords and change them regularly, and use HTTPS protocol to protect your website. To Be Met Where They Are Image via Flickr by Franck_Michel Users are spoiled for choice when it comes to searching for business solutions and will find something else if your pages are confusing or don't load on their preferred devices. To attract users and keep them on your website, keep these tips in mind: Add responsive design. Invest in a web design that adjusts to fit on any device that a customer uses — smartphone, tablet, laptop, or desktop. Give shoppers many payment options. Credit and debit are essential, and PayPal is a fantastic addition. Make navigation easy. Your pages should be legible, simple, and intuitive. You never want a customer to not know where to find what they're searching for. Go local. Many shoppers go online to search for the nearest brick-and-mortar solution. Tweak your SEO so that local users find you first. A Reason to Stick With You Customers want to be treated like individuals, and they want an incentive to keep doing business with you. This is especially important for small businesses. Why should they shop with you instead of a corporation?  Whether you can promise devoted attention, quick customer service response times, free shipping, refunds, warranties, or a loyalty reward problem, make sure your customers are aware of the benefits of shopping with you. If you can't offer these things, at least add a personal touch! The business world has never been more competitive, but with some initiative and careful attention to detail, you can stand out from the crowd. ...read more

Canadians Getting the Most Out of Travel Rewards Credit Cards

Canadians love to travel overseas. And no matter where you live, getting out of the country is one of the most enjoyable and interesting pastimes mankind has discovered yet. Travel broadens the mind, provides exciting experiences, and allows for relaxation we couldn’t get any other way. But international travel is also expensive, and to do it, most people have to find ways to make it financially feasible through techniques they’ve not yet explored. One of the best ways is through getting the most out of travel rewards credit cards.   Canadians have many options for travel rewards credit cards. However, it’s not enough to simply get a travel credit card and call it a day. Using your cards strategically and sometimes aggressively is the only way to truly milk these rewards programs. We’ll talk about the best ways to do this below.   1)   Get the Right Card.Just because a card has travel benefits doesn’t mean that it’s right for you, or that it is competitive with other travel rewards programs made available by other cards. Look for a card that fits your travel habits. For example, a card that gives free hotel stays will work great for some people, but will be totally unnecessary for someone who prefers to stay in AirBNB locations. Furthermore, you should usually consider cards that are very broad in their scope, not simply related to a single company (unless you happen to use that company all the time). Once you pick the right card and understand what it offers, you’ll be ready to do the rest of these steps. 2)   Pay For Everything With the Card (Then Pay Off the Balance). It’s common sense that most rewards cards work by giving you more rewards the more you spend. Therefore, it stands to reason that by spending as much as possible, you’ll be able to maximize your rewards. This works well if you can make all of your regular purchases on the card you choose, then pay them off immediately. The only way you’ll get yourself in trouble is if you charge more than you can afford to pay and you get yourself in debt. If you instead just make payments for which you have cash in the bank, you’ll get great rewards and not get yourself into trouble. 3)   Use More Than One Card. You may have a card that’s great for general returns (2% cash back, or something), but it won’t work as well for certain travel purchases as a card that offers 5% back for those specifically. Pay careful attention to where your spending will pay off with the best rewards. Sometimes this will require two or more cards, but if you can keep up with it all, you may find that it’s more than worth it.   Getting the best bang for your digital buck is a key aspect of using credit cards. Credit cards with rewards for travelers are an awesome option, but should be used strategically in order to get the most out of them.   ...read more
