Go Chlorine Free!! Chlorine has been used for years to kill germs, and whiten clothes, but what most people don't realize is that chlorine is a deadly toxin. During college I worked in a deli, and one of the requirements was to wipe everything down with a bleach and water mix. What surprised me was that we only used a few drops in a gallon of water, and then had to rinse everything with clear water after. Why? Because the health authority was concerned about toxic contamination of food surfaces. Bleach kills much more than germs. Vinegar is all natural, and has anti-bacterial properties. If you can't stand the idea of smelling vinegar everywhere, check out our household cleaner category, and use one the non-toxic cleaners available. When you are doing laundry, use a non-chlorine bleach, preferably an oxygen or hydrogen based bleach. By limiting our use of chlorine products, we will be reducing one more toxic substance in our environment, and making our world a little more "Green". ...read more
