Looking for some good help!
The Downtown Rochelle Association is looking for some help. We are in need of a person to take over a committee on the board. The Promotions Coordinator position is open and available to be filled by someone who has access to a computer, a phone, is willing to get around to the downtown businesses to talk to the merchants and set up our events and get participation from not only the businesses, but also the groups who may wish to sell wares, or perform during the events. This person must be able to form a committee from other friends or businesses, and follow through on the coordination of the events. This person must be able to deal with all kinds of personalities in a fair and personable manner. This person does not need to own a business, but they must be interested in helping keep the downtown an interesting place for people to come and shop. I know it is a big order, but it can be done and they would be given help by other board members. We know this person is 'out there' and we are looking for you! ...read more

Shopping Locally
We would like to encourage our local communities to shop locally to continue to keep our tax dollars in our town and working for our community. When you shop local, you know you can deal with someone you know, often times and can rely on. It is sometimes a fight to reassure customers that "just because we are a small company, does not mean we have higher prices"- we find that myth to come back to us often. We appreciate our customers, since many are friends or family or family of friends. A smart business owner recognizes that 'people talk' and when you keep your customers happy, they TELL other people. Shopping locally also keeps the small businesses going and allows them to bring in more products and services not just to our community, but the smaller communities that rely on our town to provide for them. We appreciate our local and 'long distance' customers for their continued support and would love to keep offering our services and products.
