We were told in October, with duress that we could in January 2010 take out 7 bank cds. January 2010 the banker said we just needed to call her. When we wanted to take the 7 cds out, they had changed their minds. They give you a paper saying: "NORMALLY WE DO NOT ALLOW EARLY WITHDRAWAL.............. IN THE EVENT OF SEVERE HARDSHIP WE MAY ALLOW AN EARLY WITHDRAWAL OF YOUR CERTIFICATE OF DEPOSIT, HOWEVER....... 3 MONTHS 91 DAYS INTEREST." and believe me, they mean this. You can be dying and it does not matter. They offered 1/7th with penalty. They offered $1400 loan til May 15th, 2010 when the cds come due. ...read more
