How to Find Credit Card Bank Information

Banks issue credit cards. Many credit cards display the name of the bank that issued it. Knowing the name of the bank that issued your credit card will come in handy if you ever need to report the card lost or dispute a transaction.

  • Check the back of the card. If the bank name is not on the front of the card, it might be on the back. Check the bottom corners of the card and the center bottom near the fine print. The bank name may also appear as a logo.

  • Review your credit card bill to find the bank name. Check the name on the return address or the area of the bill that contains your account information. You can also check the fine print on the backs and bottoms of each page of the bill.

  • Contact your credit card's customer service line. Most credit cards have a customer service number located somewhere on the card. Dial the number, verify you are the account holder, and ask the customer service representative for the bank information you need.

  • Log onto the credit card website. If you are not sure of the website address, search for it using the credit card's name. Credit card websites will connect you directly to the bank that issued the card. Create an online account, or sign into an existing account to find the card information you are looking for. If the bank name is still not clear, click on the "Contact Us" or "About Us" link on the website to research the bank information further.
