The Eighties are back, but lets make it modern!

We thought it would never happen, but the eighties have been reborn.  I remember the fashion the first time around, and well.... I hope that we can do it better in 2009-10. One way to get in on the trend is with your make-up.  But instead of that Boy George look , lets try something a bit more modern. Look #1- Full Face Make-up Don't go back to that look that layers on heavy foundation, blush, and eye liner!  Go for a sheer approach!   You can still have fun with the bolder colors and dramatic looks; just keep them softer and subtle with sheer make-up like our minerals line, new eyeshadow quads and dual ended eye liners. Look #2- Material Girl We all remember Madonna and how she set the fashion trend of the eighties.  Now we revisit her brilliance to update the rock star look.  Punk out the eyes with black Jillian Dempsy Eye Liner on both top and bottom lash lines - then smudge to create a softer look.   Add our Supershock Mascara in black to upper and lower lashes.  And of course you need some bright, neon lips!  Try our new 3-in-1 Lip Wand  in Coral or Berry for that rockstar finish. Look #3 - Exotic Elongated Eyeshadow Now don't go supermodel crazy, unless you are feeling super confident about starting a real trend - then go for it.  But for the rest of us that might not be ready to rock the runways of our local supermarket, might I suggest revamping this eighties look with a soft neutral palatte.  Extend an elongated wing of dark shadow from the upper lash line to above the brow bone. Then buff the edges with a softer color and apply a golden liner to the inner corners in a sideways V shape. And don't forget to curl those lashes. I would suggest using the Mocha Latte Quad or they Sandy Corals Quad for your eyeshadow pallete for a look that says modern eighties. Well have fun ladies - and don't forget, I'm always here if you need a make-up 101 lesson!  Just call me and we can set up a time to create your own signature look. ...read more
