BigeBear, you are sadly mistaken! I have owned a Rainbow for over 35 years purchasing my first one when I was 23. It never wore out but I wanted a new one so gave gave it to a family member who desired one for many years! She was thrilled to get it! I never had ANY trouble with it in 25 years!!! It was serviced every 5 years whether it needed it or not! \t\n\t\nMy second unit is an E Series and the experience in the past 10 years has been equaled to that of the first unit! \t\n\t\nPerhaps your salesperson was not well-informed on all the features and benefits. That it sad because you are the one who was cheated from a high-quality and valuable piece of equipment. \t\n\t\nIf one were to 'cost-average' what people spend on replacing a cheap vacuum every few years he/she would realize that a one-time investment of quality outweighs the up front expense many times over!!! Not to mention the quality of performance and health benefits of cleaner air to breath. \t\n\t\nI have never needed to replace any of my carpets since owning a Rainbow; it is dirt that wears out carpets! BRY Enterprises sold me a Rainbow vacuum only 3 years ago and now it will not work. Aparently the Motor has gone out. The problem is, I cannot get a hold of anyone at the company. When I call the business phone it rings off the hook and then automatically hangs up on me. No answering service of any kind. How am I supposed to get the motor fixed, find out about the warranty, etc. if the company will not even answer the phone when it rings? The vaccuum worked great for the first 2 years, then started having issues and finally died after 3 years. As expensive as it is, you would hope that it would last much longer. ...read more
