VIP Gamestore

5.0

By EmilyMauldin

VIP is the go-to store for video games, whether you're buying, selling, or trading. They have always given us fair value for our trade ins, and have the best prices on the games we want. My husband and I are always greeted as friends, and customer service is obviously a priority. They even provide that great service on their Facebook page, which is rare. If you leave them a question or a comment, they usually are very quick to get back to you on it. If you haven't been in to the store yet, I highly suggest you do so. Go discover your new favorite place to buy and trade your games! I work at a video game store, and my family still buys all our games from VIP games. That should tell you all you need to know. ...read more

A-1 Video Game Exchange

1.0

By Banefull

A1 has always been a problem for the people of Boise, the number of horror stories are nearly endless and the sad thing is they are all true for the most part. The staff are incredibly rude and unprofessional. Their prices are overinflated and the store...poor layout and my god the smell is the most horrid combination of a babies diaper and sweat. ...read more

HobbyTown USA

3.0

By CRFjockey at Citysearch

My son had been saving a long time for a really good R/C car. He went in to the Hobbytown here in Nampa who did their best to help him, but they didn't know anything about racing locally. They recommended that he visit the Hobbytown in Boise. On my next day off, I went with him.\t\n\t\nThe store is big and inviting. There is something interesting everywhere you look. That's why I gave them a second and third star.\t\n\t\nWe looked at the R/C car boxes for about 15 minutes while my son explained to me what he'd learned reading chat rooms.\t\n\t\nFinally, after about 10 minutes I went to the counter to ask for help. A young man with a manager tag cheerfully agreed to help me. He asked what we were looking for and I gave him a basic rundown. When he found out we were considering going racing, he did give us a brochure from a local race track. When I asked about the cars, he recommended we talk to the people at the track. When I asked about the manufacturers, he recommended we talk to the people at the track. When I asked about batteries and chargers he told us some basic pricing, but didn't tell us anything about the different types of batteries or ratings.\t\n\t\nOver lunch later, my son and I both agreed that the only thing we had learned from our visit was about TQ Raceway. \t\n\t\nFortunately, we decided to stop by R/C Hobies on Overland. Read my review on that store. Wonderful experience. We walked out of there with a $200 R/C car that we are very happy with.\t\n\t\nMy conclusion is this--as an interesting store with cool stuff, I'd rate Hobbytown as a five star. But if you're looking for help buying an R/C car, their service demands that you save the money and order from the internet.\t\n\t\n ...read more
