My fiance had been calling and calling, left message after message to report to probation officer Fowler. She never answered or returned his phone calls. She then decided to put a warrant out for his arrest for not calling in to report. Again no one ever picked up the phone. Honestly if you are not going to do the job correctly then why be there? He is now I'm Cobb jail because no one answered or returned his call. Please do something about this fire officer Fowler or suspend her or something, because there is no need for anyone to be locked up for for calling and their probation officer not to answer. After seeing the negative reviews I have to agree with what our family has experienced. According to O.C.G.A. 42-8-38 a person on probation (of any kind) can be arrested without a warrant just on the word of a probation officer. That means they don't have to prove anything or let the probationer provide proof - until after they are in jail and have a hearing - so the great state legislature has allowed a person's due process rights to be erased with this law. My family member had completed the class, evaluation and community service and was in their office to present all the paperwork and pay the fine. He was drug tested and because he has a new prescription from his doctor, the test showed positive. He was not allowed to provide proof of the prescription but was told it didn't matter and it could have been an over the counter cold medication that caused the test to turn positive and he was going to jail anyway for days with no bail. This is abuse at the highest level when our Federal Constitutional Rights are striped. This law needs to be amended and the probation officers held accountable. One review here says that the person's daughter was threatened with jail several times. I have learned that my family member also has been threatened with the same. And if you have not had the pleasure of calling the probation office to ask simple questions, please try this out - one you will have trouble finding the correct number and once you do you will be greeted with the most unprofessional bottom dwelling county employees ever. ...read more

Everyone says "Well if you do what you are told, everything will be ok." and with Cobb County, that is not true. They play by their own rules and nobody questions the decisions they make. I was put on felony probation for a crime that I did not commit. With no evidence, I was given the choice to go to trial to prove my innocence and risk 10 years in jail, or take a plea of two years probation. Long Story short, I have never been in trouble with the law (my mother is a retired military police), which I know that is what everyone says but I truly haven't, not even a detention in school. my probation officer put a warrant out for my arrest because I could not pay the whole $200 at the time that she wanted, even after I offered to pay what I had, and that was with no job and a small infant. She constantly threatened to have my child take by DCFS and me thrown in jail if I did not comply. On top of that, my probation officer has changed numerous times without me being told and they never have a working number. These people are lawless and running rampant with power and there is really nothing you can do because they are so eager to put everyone they can in jail for long periods of time, especially if you are an African- American. ...read more
