Johnson & Johnson Recalls Children's Products

It's frightening that the most often purchased products have quality control issues like this. With Melaleuca, you can be sure that every product goes through several tests from individual ingredient to final product. That's why I say Melaleuca products are safer for you, your home and your family.   The following information is from Dr. Mercola's newsletter. The source of the news story is just below the article. Johnson&Johnson Recalls Children's Tylenol and Motrin   The U.S. FDA has urged consumers to stop using liquid Tylenol, Motrin, Benadryl and Zyrtec medicines for children and infants. Johnson & Johnson has announced a broad recall following the discovery of manufacturing deficiencies that could affect the quality, purity and potency of the drugs. The FDA also warned that consumers should not give adult strength medicine to children instead, as this can result in serious harm. According to Reuters: "Some of the products affected by the recall may contain a higher concentration of active ingredient than specified; others contain inactive ingredients that may not meet internal testing requirements; and others may contain tiny particles." Belly Fat Research

It has long been recognized that people who carry their excess weight around their middles--those who are apple-shaped instead of pear-shaped--have a higher risk for heart attacks and strokes. Recent research also suggest a link between belly fat and a range of other disesases, including diabetes, some cancers and even age-related dementias. Researchers used two measures of abdominal obesity--waist circumference and waist-to-hip ratio--in their attempt to better understand th role of belly fat in early death. Specifically: Men and women with the largest waists (more then 40 inches for men and 35 inches for women) had roughly double the risk of premature death as men and women with the smallest waists (less then 34 inches for men and 28 inches for women). Each 2-inch increase in waist circumference was associated with close toa 17% increase in mortality in men and 13% increase in women. Waist-to--hip ratio also strongly predicted mortality "The most important result of our study is the finding that not just being overweight but also the distribution of body fat affects teh risk of premature death." the findings come as no surprise to University of Michigan cardiologist adn research scientist Daniel Eitzman, MD. Work by Eitzman and colleagues in mice found that belly fat--also known as visceral fat--produces more inflammation than fat found in other areas of the body. Inflammation is thought to play a key role in heart disease and a host of other chronic diseases. "Studies liek this focus attention on the importance of measuring visceral fat, which is not now routinely done in clinical practice,: he says. So get those measureing tapes out and take account. Do it for yourself and do it for your health!  If you would like additional information about how you can begin losing that additional fat in as little as 45 minutes, be sure to let me know. ...read more

Get energy from drinking your vegetables!

After starting to lose inches with the wraps, I wanted to start using products that would help me be healthier. One of the first products I tried was It's Greens. Here's why. Remember high school chemistry?? I don’t remember much but I do remember the terms pH level, acid and alkaline and that having an acidic body was unhealthy. There are several internet articles that address the topic of health and acid. Much of our diet (fats and sugars) and negative emotions contribute to the acidic nature of the body. Having too much acid promotes aging appearance as well as diseases such as heart conditions, diabetes, cancer, etc. Did you know…that it takes 32 glasses of water to neutralize the amount of acid put into your body from one soft drink? That’s pretty amazing and considering we don’t drink that much water anyway…I also learned from a chiropractic friend that a soft drink will cut your immunity in half. An alternative that we have chosen is drinking our greens. No, I’m not talking about putting the collards in the blender! I’m talking about drinking It’s Greens from It Works! It’s Greens contains 32 super foods and one serving is akin to eating 8 salads. You get 8 servings of fruits and vegetables in one tasty drink. The items in It’s Greens are organically grown and powdered so that you mix about ¼ teaspoon in 8 ounces of water or juice. I opt for pineapple juice—and I really like it! (Not like the taste of a freshly mowed field!) We have more energy and are generally feeling better. As a member of the Customer Loyalty program you get the lowest price which is $33 for a 60 servings or a 2-month supply. Not a bad investment to improve your overall health for only 50 cents a day!
