I initially went to Best Buy to get my laptop screen fixed, but the Geek Squad guy there told me that visiting a local shop was also an option, and so I could sent it in to the BB service center and pay a $35 fee to get a quote on what it would take to fix it, and if I was okay with the quote, they'd fix it and send it back in a few days, and if I wasn't okay with the quote, I'd be out $35. The other option was a local shop, and the person recommended GC Computer in the mall and said they'd charge around $150 depending on what kind of screen was needed. So I want to GC, and they fixed my screen in an hour and charged me $160. It was amazing, I expected to be without my computer for a day at least, but they were fast and polite and charged fairly. got an estimate for $179,from another very nice computer store,, went to GC to get another estimate, Sharon said she thought it might be the cable and would cost$119,,and be finished in 1 day. It was the cable and the tech man thoroughly explained how he soldered two tiny wires together, and showed me a cable, ,, I was very reluctant to leave my computer as the store looks disorganized,, but all was well!! ...read more

It takes 3 months for them to check the problem of my hard drive and turned out that they didn' t fix it at all. They say they will call you 'tomorrow', but never. I have to call them every week to check the progress. It's a very very painful experience. ...read more
