Bonjour Spa On Park Avenue

5.0

By Ischylar

Finally we were checked and seated waiting for our services to begin. I had to ask one of the women working there almost three times could she please get my mother something to drink. At the prices they are charging they should be asking us, like they used to. The worst came when I was checking out and was signing my credit card receipt and here comes the ghetto owner Kim shouting "Eyebrow, eyebrow ...read more

Bonjour Spa On Park Avenue

2.0

By Ischylar

I have been going to Bonjour off and on for a little over 6 years and have always had a great experience until recently. Let me start off by saying its been a little over a year before my last visit. Two weeks ago my mom and brother were coming to visit and neither had ever had the start treatment... my first thought was to pamper them at Bonjour!Even though I had been many times I still read the reviews as I do with most venues I attend and there were quite a few on other sites that weren't very good... I dismissed them thinking those guest were surely mistaken...they weren't!Upon our arrival for our 12:15pm appts the place seem a bit chaotic. Kim the owner was trying to work the phones and check in clients for their treatments. She was VERY loud and ghetto on the phone when speaking with clients... note the tone of voice you expect to hear when entering a spa on Park Ave in Winter Park. ...read more

vida wellness

2.0

By HannahSullivan2

My mother and I went to Vida Wellness today for a mani/pedi. We had the Groupon voucher which gave us the $35 price, and decided to give it a try. We were very disappointed in the owner's unprofessionalism when it came to helping us actually locate the spa, because there was no way to see the business's sign while driving up and down the shopping strip. Since we are not familiar with the area, it took us almost 20 minutes to actually locate their business, which of course made us late. Even after being verbally insulted by the owner several times, we still decided to keep the appointment with the nail tech, because she was much more pleasant to deal with. Honestly, I would not recommend this spa. There are several others in the area with better prices and better service. It we had not purchased the Groupon voucher, the quality of the mani/pedi would not have been worth what they actually charge for the service. I would say to check out the other spas in the area before coming here. ...read more

How to apply mascara

Create a Bold Mascara Look ! with Mark Cosmetics Use Mark Cosmetics mark Make it Big Plumping Mascara in this 3-step process:Step 1: Wiggle the wand left to right at the base of lashes. It's the mascara placed near the roots -- not the tips -- that gives the illusion of length.Step 2: Pull the wand up and through lashes, wiggling as you go. The wiggling part is key because it separates lashes.Step 3: In this final step (which I always skip), close the eye and place the mascara wand on top of lashes at the base and pull through to remove any clumps. How to Keep Lashes From ClumpingFor some, lash combs are simply too fussy. But for some makeup artists, they're a great invention and keep lashes glob-free and perfectly separated. To use a lash comb, first apply mascara at the lash base, then wiggle the lash comb through to the tips of your lashes. Not into the lash comb? Get rid of clumbs without them by removing excess mascara from the wand. Wipe wand on tissue, this eliminates blobs BEFORE you start.Another great way to get rid of clumps is to sweep a clean, fresh mascara wand through lashes when they're wet. Either buy new ones or recycle old ones.(they're called "spoolies" .Recycle an old mascara wand if you don't want to bother with spoolies. When you finish a mascara, clean the wand in a cap-full of eye makeup remover, then wash with soap and dry. Keep it clean by washing it whenever you wash your makeup tools.Thou Shalt Not Pump Wand In&Out; of TubeThis only introduces air into the tube, which will cause your mascara to dry out sooner than it should.Bend the WandA top makeup artist once gave his secret to his steady hand: he always bends his wand at a right angle.Wait to Blink&Doublecheck Once DrySince I have long lashes, I try to wait 5 seconds before blinking after I apply mascara or I end up with mascara dots all along my lid. I also doublecheck my lids before I step out because chances are good, I've got those dots going on and it's embarrassing to find out hours later that you've done a poor makeup job on yourself when you're a beauty editor by  ...read more
