Mayes Insurance Group has been great to us. We have used them for many, many years for house insurance. Any time we have questions, they're right there to answer. They do a lot of follow up, which I like. I believe their expertise, and I trust them. We have been very satisfied with their service, and we've already recommended them to others. ...read more

How to Build an Email Newsletter for Your Agency

The goal of sending email newsletters is obviously to get consumers to read what you have to say. But more than that, it's a way of projecting your agency's knowledge, helpfulness and competency to help ensure individuals that your agency is a trusted resource. How do you achieve this goal? Start by using these four steps to build an effective email newsletter for your agency. Subject line:Think of browsing the news. Some stories are easy to skip over and some stories beckon you to click with just a few words. Writing a compelling subject line in 50 characters or less (including spaces) is no easy task. But practice makes perfect, so try different tactics such as asking a question or promising interesting information. Relevant copy:Let's face it, people want to read information that directly affects them. They typically don't care about your agency's anniversary or a conference you attended. They are much more likely to read about how they can protect their homes during a crime spree or which community events they can attend each month. You can keep consumers coming back for more by giving them more of what they want. Remember to write a call to action to prompt them to visit your site, fill out a quote form, like your agency on Facebook and more Design:The design of an email newsletter can determine how consumers receive information. For example, unless you're on a subscriber's safe-sender list, the images may not automatically load. So you don't want to put vital information, such as a deadline or price discount, inside of images. Rather, images should supplement the email's text and take up no more than 25 percent of the visual space. Tracking:Hitting the send button does not mean the end of an email newsletter. It's a good habit to start tracking the progress of each email and look for trends. If few people open emails about disability insurance and lots of people open emails about homeowners insurance, you might want to consider writing about homeowners insurance more often. Tracking helps you develop more relevant email newsletters that consumers will want to read. We have the resources you need. How to Make Your Agency's Website More Inviting

Online marketing is a must for all insurance agencies. Why? With such a heavily saturated market, a well-marketed website is a great way to get your name out there to millions of people who have the Internet at their fingertips. But even if people reach your site, they might not stay there long enough to learn about your agency. If you want to decrease your bounce rate, try the following five tips to improve your agency website. Uniformity:Every page of your website should match your agency's style guide, which should detail the appropriate colors, fonts and logos to use. This design unity familiarizes your visitors with your branding, on top of making your agency look more organized and credible. For example, don't use five fonts on the same page or three versions of an agency logo across the site. Text:Break up your text into small paragraphs, like in this blog post. Large chunks of text often chase visitors away. Additionally, keep your copy short and to the point so visitors can learn about your agency quickly. People also enjoy the use of images on websites to add some visual aesthetic to the text. Video:If you have videos on your website, do not code them to automatically play when someone clicks onto your site. Most people prefer having the option of watching a video or listening to a sound bite, as opposed to having the unwelcomed noise thrust upon them. Social media:Making use of social media is another way to get your name out there. Add icons of your social media accounts to your main website and marketing materials. Also include them in the footer of your email newsletters. After that, it's all about learning what your followers/fans respond to and giving them more of what they enjoy to foster social engagement. Navigation:Your website should be simple to navigate via a menu on the top or side of your site. Visitors should be able to find what they need within a few seconds, as opposed to scrolling around and digging through messy menu systems. We help agents become the best they can be. Call Connect Insurance at (682) 518-6594 for more information on Texas independent insurance agents. ...read more
