Green design is a "new" thing for people to become excited about. In all actuallity, it is nothing new for us at Merriweather Designs. For years, we have promoted saving the family favorite and re-upholster the sofa or chair. We suggest using what you have and making it new with a few changes. Another great way to be green is to use products that recycle well. Did you know there are carpets out that are intended to be recycled once they wear out? Actually most of the time carpets ugly out versus wear out. The newer carpets are produced with newer fibers and dye processes that they become out dated first. Ever considered wood flooring? Ever wonder where the wood comes from? Make sure when purchasing the flooring that it came from a well managed forest and not our precious Rain Forest that can be wiped out if you don't pay attention to the details.
