Event Preparation
Imagine is a key word that I use on my website in order to entice my clients to put themselves in the picture or better yet in the Moment. The main reason that I do this is to get them thinking about their event preparation, the timing, the placement, the music, the formalities, and their vision. Once a client is on the path to planning utilizing the key factors I just listed they are on their way to creating the moment. The timing is the "Magic" dust that will be sprinkled by the client on the entire event. Think about when you want to make a toast, do a special dance, announce something, play a game, serve dinner, pray, and even about the departure and closing of the event. The toast is always recommended to the host and from the host, whatever you are celebrating there should be room for an opening and a closing and even a toast. Dinner, buffet, snacks, drinks are also key ingredients. Departing is often disregarded but it should be the first thing, like opening a book and reading the ending first. If you can envision how you want to depart, and plan accordingly, you can tie in all the rest to make the event a success. The placement of tables, chairs, people, decorations, band, dj, dance floor and all of the above are key items to create the atmosphere you desire. Tables and chairs are always first on my to do list, where do you want everyone to sit, obvious but where do you place the dance floor. Advice always put the entertainment in front of your dance floor. Make the stage the center of attention with a host, band, or DJ. Once the action is on everyone will gyrate toward where the crowd gathers, which is usually the dance floor. To lead your crowd into a hypnotic and happy trance with music, drink, and food is another form of that Magic dust. If it's music request, planning of formalities, or a timeline it should be on paper and chronological and not in your head. Write down your ideas, brainstorm and develop a generic and flexible start and finish. Timelines should be flexible in order to allow for human errors. Do NOT EVER base an entire EVENT on one Player or Person. Always have a backup and always have a plan. Rain, shine, or missing pastor, Always, Always, Always plan ahead. Enough Said! Your event will be a success if you Plan Ahead. If you fail to plan, you plan to fail! Obvious! ...read more

Wedding Season!! Book a Professional Disc Jockey FIRST!!
The Engagement Rings are all on the fingers and the new wedding rings soon to be placed in their proper position upon the left ring finger. It's time to consider your entertainment for your Reception! All too often brides and grooms are so busy picking out flowers and rings and worrying about the dresses and tuxedos for their bridal party that they forget the music. If you did not have music to celebrate your special day then how would one enjoy their day with family and friends. I mean this is something you want everyone to remember, right? The easiest way to keep memories alive are to create Great Ones. Do you think your guest will remember the cake? The food? Most likely not! They will remember the Celebration of your love for one another. I often find that a couple will book our Disc Jockey service last and once they do they wish they had booked us first. A Professional Disc Jockey has the knowledge and skill to assist a couple with the proper planning, traditions, and music for their wonderful day. It seems that every time I finish talking with my clients for the first time, I talk them through how we perform; from the walking down the isle to the brides march (or other non-traditional music) to the last dance and every dance in between, they always say they wish they had spoken to me first. I have performed over 450 Weddings and can tell you from experience that I wish the couple would have called me first. Often times, when I run into wedding planners, I ask them how many events they perform each year, they say a dozen or so. With this in mind, with all of the events a Professional Disc Jockey conducts (sometimes in the hundreds per year) wouldn't you think that they might have a little more experience at least with the music and formalities of the reception? I Know for a Fact that This DJ does. If you are a planner, this is not an attack on your profession, this is just a statement from my perspective as a Professional Entertainer and Wedding Officiate. I am saying that if you need to worry about table napkins, cake, and dresses call a planner but if you want to have a great time I believe that a Professional Disc Jockey can assist you. After all, once you are hitched it's time to Celebrate and share your day with your family and friends. Stop all the stress and contact a professional Disc Jockey before you start your booking for all the other services. You might actually save a lot of hassle and $$Money$$$. ...read more
