My Xbox 360 got the red ring of death so I decided to get it fixed instead of buying a new one. I found The Console Doctors online, so I decided to bring it in to them to see how much it would cost. They were able to fix it for a very low price and now I am able to play my new game call of duty advance warfare. THANK YOU :) ...read more

Console Doctor quickly repaired a video issue I had on my personal computer. They did the work quickly, and also replaced a defective DVD player on my machine. Console Doc's staff always has a good attitude, and are now open Saturdays from 12:00 pm-5:00. They even helped me with learning a few unknown functions on my cell phone. Recommend them to my friends, too. Solid pricing at Console Doctor, too. ...read more

Latest Technologies 2011

Since June 2011, I have been building custom computers using the NEW SATA 6.0 and USB 3.0 motherboards. I have found that USB 3.0 does offer much better transfer speeds than USB 2.0 High-speed and SATA 6.0 is quite a bit faster than SATA 3.0. For those of you who are computer illiterate, one of the new technologies that are happening with computers is the new USB 3.0 and SATA 6.0.  SATA 6.0 refers to transfer speed from a hard drive and/or motherboard.  These technologies belong to the system board or motherboard on a computer.  Computers 2010 and later do not have these technologies. I still get confused with the terminology between SATA II and SATA III. SATA II = SATA 3.0 and SATA III = SATA 6.0.  Very confusing to me and I’m a computer geek.  It’s like Microsoft Windows 2000 and Microsoft Office 2000.  To top this off, after an exhaustive  research on SATA 6.0 motherboards I found that I couldn't find a single motherboard that allowed RAID with SATA 6.0.  RAID 0 for example allows 2 hard drives to be combined into a single size so that data would transfer twice as fast. ...read more

Keep your computer safe and clean!

Hello all, I just want to make it known that getting prepared for the holidays is always a good and positive thing. But on the other hand it can be a bad thing with more and more internet traffic which means being more open to infections. Everyone is doing their early shopping online and booking flights, hotels, and possibly rental cars to spend this Thanksgiving with loved ones. The more traffic the more you have to be careful of viruses and infections. Last week was a very busy week for me just on virus removal. The koobface virus is out there and available to any and all who use myspace, facebook, and twitter. If you get a pop up telling you to update your adobe flash player do not open it or accept it. I advice to go directly to adobe.com to download it from their website to ensure security. Keep your computer secured by keeping windows up to date on all of the security updates, keep your anti-virus up to date, have some form of spyware protection for back up purposes. Scan your computer once a week with your security program and spyware program. Remove unwanted and unused programs, perform a disk clean, and a disk defragmentation on your c: drive to ensure clean up on all cluttered files. Also delete internet history, temp files, and cookies. This can help you prevent and minimize the risk of getting a nasty infection and will also help out with performance by not having junk files on your computer. If you have a mac be aware that viruses are also out there for mac's also. Your chances are not as great as a windows based pc but you still have a chance of getting infected. Make sure your time machine back up is up to date, clear your internet history and cache, and delete cookies. Rather you are using safari, google chrome, or mozilla firefox. Make sure you have a your computer set to receive updates, uninstall unused applications, keep your security program up to date. Scan your computer at least every other week. ...read more
