C O.04/07/2014 When my daughter was 6 months old, I went to check out Sunny Start Pre-School. I immediately knew this was the place for her when I was greeted by the infant teacher with a big smile. All the children in the school looked happy and all the classrooms were EXCEPTIONALLY clean and cared for. Four years later, my little girl is about to start VPK at this amazing school. I am heartbroken because she only has one year left here. In this bilingual environment, my daughter learned to sing the ABCs by the time she was 14 months old. She learned her colors and shapes before she was 2. Around 22 months, the teachers were fully invested in helping me get her potty-trained. And around 3 years old, my little girl was learning to write the letters of her name. This school definitely deserves the title "preschool" versus daycare. The teachers and director, Jennifer, make it each moment the students are with them valuable. Students not only excel in academic endeavors, but they are taught respect, good manners, and how to solve conflicts between each other. I went to buy a course and I was not satisfied with the course there so many mistakes in the books and no one in that company even speaks English! I went to pay and everyone only speaks Spanish! I have a confession to make, sorry I can’t hold it anymore and need to share it with you. So, here it is, “I get jealous and inspired at the same time with people with good public speaking skills”. Good public speaking skills, I mean who doesn’t want that right? I see these guys don’t even worry a bit about anything while addressing the audience while I used to get scared seeing the crowd that gathered in the school assembly. I was shy, I lacked confidence, and my legs used to shiver out of fear. Like a majority of kids who fail to muster the courage to stand and speak in front of a small or big crowd, even I was one victim of anthropophobia (an extreme, pathological form of shyness and timidity). This was a problem and I had to get rid of this. I started following motivational speakers because when you’ve to learn something, you follow the leaders. And, you believe it or not, motivational speakers are like the Chinese Ninjas with a slight difference between both of them. One is the master of ‘art of combat; the perfect warriors’ while the other is the master of ‘art of weaving words’. Now, in my pursuit to become like them, I learned quite a lot and today I am going to share some of the things that I learned. Lesson: Motivational speakers have traits that define them. So, what are the traits that help differentiates between motivational speakers and any other guy? They talk about their personal experiences: You can find out if the person standing on the stage addressing the audience is truly a motivational speaker or not by what he talks. A true motivational speaker knows that to connect the audience one needs more than the bookish knowledge. The know the art of influencing, one can only influence the audience by sharing personal experiences that are similar to the topic. This helps a speaker emotionally connect with its audience because you assure your audience “that you ain’t different from them”. Confidence, which is the backbone for a motivational speaker: Imagine someone standing on the stage, trying to address you and he/she fumbles regularly or is finding it difficult to make an eye contact with the audience. Would you like that? A motivational speaker who’s really nervous while addressing the audience is like a basketball player facing difficulties in dribbling the basketball. So, if you see a motivational speaker, the first that will impress you is their confidence. Confidence is the first evaluation factor in this kind of jobs. Passion for the subject: Passion drives people to do something and push themselves beyond the normal limits to achieve excellence. For a motivational speaker, the passion of being a motivational speaker is more important than any other secondary fact.
