I had a couple of shady pediatricians, so I was nervous when I first went to see Dr. Rich. He is amazing! He is supportive of my decision to selectivly vaccinate, and I have never waited more than 5 minutes to be taken to a room. He takes care of a lot of things in his office that most pediatricians send you to specialists for, and I have never left without a proper diagnosis. My last pediatrician could not diagnose my daughters headaches for 2 years, on the first visit Dr. Rich suggested allergies. She hasn't had a headache since! Thanks Dr. Rich! ...read more

I first met Dr. Rodriguez at Winnie Palmer's Parent's Nite in Summer 2008. I was about 8 months pregnant and in the market for a pediatrician. After that night I made an appointment to do a visit at his clinic and I loved him then. He came to the hospital the very same day my son was born and everyday till we left (3days later) I have moved to the tampa bay area but I still take my son to him. I refuse to switch doctors because I doubt that any other doctor would personally return a frantic mom's phone call on a sunday night. I have called the clinic a few times after hours, left a message and within 15-30 mins I get a call from Dr. Rodriguez. Hello parents and welcome to Sunshine Pediatrics. I graduated from the University of South Florida College of Medicine in Tampa, Florida, in 1986, and completed my 3-year pediatric residency at Orlando Regional Medical Center / Arnold Palmer Hospital for Children and Women in 1991. Following completion of my residency, I joined my father, Carlos Rodriguez, MD, in his private practice in Winter Park, Florida. In December of 1993, I joined Dr. David Carr at Pediatrics Plus in Orlando where I spent thirteen years. While being part of Pediatrics Plus was a great experience, I always dreamed of having my own practice closer to my home so I could practice what I preach about parents spending time with their children. Caring for children and adolescents, both well and sick, is truly a group effort. Prevention is a big part of what pediatricians “preach” and I am no exception. I feel my role as a pediatrician is to help guide children and their families during periods of illness and to monitor growth and development during wellness through regularly scheduled check-ups. All of this is in an effort to foster an ongoing understanding of human growth and maturation from infancy through to young adulthood. I'm blessed with a wonderful wife, Cindy. We are the proud parents of Michael Gregory (a.k.a. Mikey, a.k.a The Wall, hockey goalie) and Phillip James (a.k.a. Phillster). The boys are both in boy scouts and play hockey. I enjoy helping with scouts and coaching hockey. Cindy is such a good sport putting up with all the guy stuff and we appreciate her as she's our number one cheer leader.
