Heatwave Mobile Window Tinting

Just wanted to clarify that * * * * *I do not run a business nor am I a competitor * * * * * * * * of this HeatWave Tinting. Got burnt by them so posted my negative feedback. They did the job in Mid May, 2012 and I posted my feedback in Oct, 2012. Five months is a long way to get things working. Run with your money from this business. If you need Tints, check out businesses where you can physically go not let some unknown folks come to your home running their business from the back of a car and then disappear. ...read more

Heatwave Mobile Window Tinting

Got my car tinted with 3M crystalline (supposedly) from these folks in May 2012 after finding them on the 3M website. After the first botched attempt, they have refused to provide me with 3M warranty certificate giving a runaround every time. They claim that 3M is not providing them with the certificates so they cannot give it to me. I talked to the 3M regional manager in Ft. Lauderdale who indicated that 3M would provide the warranty certificates to their dealers within 48 hours of receiving the request. My CC provider couldn't help since service (sub-par) was provided. Beware of these folks. Their modus operandi is.1. Do the job at your residence rather than on their business premises2. Payment accepted on the name of a person rather than their registered business3. Job done by someone who who don't know, haven't talked to but claim to work for Heat Wave Tinting and sent by the owner Robert. 5 months is heck of a time to ship anything coast to coast. Save your $$ ...read more

What Interior decorators don't want you to know.

Window film stops your stuff (art, drapes, blinds, carpet, furniture) from fading by blocking all UV rays from entering.  Your decorator doesn't want you to know this because they want you coming back again in a few years.  If you have window film installed the heat and fading rays won't bleach your stuff and turn your drapes into faded dust generators.  You won't need to replace your stuff as often.  That costs your interior design professional another fee in a few years. Don't get me wrong.  I think designers and decorators do a great job at spending other peoples money.  They know where the good stuff is and do a great job putting it all together.  We work with a few that get window film and their clients appreciate how the film protects their stuff from fading and even helps control the climate.  But when it comes to window film, most interior design professionals are clueless or negligent in their duties.  I wonder if they could be held liable for damages? Window film is available in a multitude of shades from literally dozens of suppliers.  The prices are very competitive so one should compare apples to apples.  We really like the new ceramic films.  They are very light and amazingly clear and still block tons of solar energy.  Sun Tek has a line called Ultra-Vision that is spectacular. We still do our share of dark films though.  We just installed 3000 SF of 15% film in a Palm Beach mansion.  The rooms were so big that the dark film really didn't make the rooms gloomy. ...read more

wow, it's hot!

We just installed about 1000 square feet of ceramic film in a home in Palm Beach.  The owner was only doing it because they are on the beach and the town requires "turtle tint".  It is a film that changes the wavelength of light so turtle hatchlings can't see it and get confused. The owner was going to remove it after they got their C.O. but just called to ask if I knew that this film also made the rooms cooler and gave them privacy?  Of course I know that, I have been hanging film for 20 years, how could I not know it? Anyway, we are going out next week to do all the windows that don't face the ocean.  They have decided that losing a little light to lose a lot of heat is a good trade off. ...read more
