Helens Tea

By Faerietygers

I found this on the internet. It is a small place, which is to be expected. Not as quaint and British looking as I expected as the owner is British. The tea was great, and the lemonade too, although she should have said it was iced tea because that is what it tasted like as she made it with spiced tea. The sandwiches were very nice and homemade. We had a seafood, cucumber, cheese, tuna and turkey sandwich. Plenty for each. We had five people, and we got two trays of sandwiches. She also brought pickled apples, which were good which she said she was tring out, and also pepper coleslaw. I don't like peppers, but my friends said they were good. The scones were good; made from a mix and she heated them in the microwave, but we aren't picky. The desserts were not homemade, and there were no tarts or pies, which I would have liked. The desserts were my least favorite. Also she rushed us out beecause apparently they closed at 4, so I felt kind of put off by that. Otherwise good. ...read more
