A PLUS MIKE'S APPLIANCE

1.0

By JRan at Citysearch

Mike's Appliance is SMOKE AND MIRRORS folks. BEWARE!!!!!!! Mike was hired to repair a dryer which was not working. He came to our home in South Windsor and did service work. This, mind you, costs me (as the customer) more money because of the ""travel time"" to get here; which is no more than 4 miles... This fee on top of a completely UN-DISCLOSED $60 service-call FEE. ANYWAYS, As soon as he left, our dryer was still not working. We called back right away, we were told by his assistant (and wife, or not wife.. they lied about this fact, telling my spouse and I conflicting facts, kind of weird..) that we would have to wait until the next day for re-service. No problem. Outside of a few morning errands, my wife stays put ALL day, glued to the house for the impending repairman visit. At 4pm, I get home and decide to call for a status on arrival, which was estimated as (after noontime) only to find that they have no ability to come out to our house this day. Why am I calling YOU then Mike, shouldnt you or your wife/non-wife be calling ME????????? Moving on... The next day, he comes to fix the initial problem, a clogged dryer, and knowing how persistant (and irratated) we've been; charges my wife additional $42 for the half hour to fix what should've been solved initially. Terrible customer service!!! Angered, I call and talk to Mike directly. This was the most demanding, horrifying ten minute phone call of my life. I simply want to be heard as a customer; I have concerns that are not addressed. Mike would not let me say a word. He kept interrupting my every thought, being very defensive. The fact is, Mike seems like an ok guy, he is just TERRIBLE at business and service!!!!!!!!!! At this point, he has fixed the dryer issue. I find myself having spent $170 to fix a 20 year old dryer. Had I known about the 'smoke and mirrors' fee schedule, I would've gone to Sears and spent that money on a dryer made in this millenium... Call at your own risk!! ...read more
