Very good Haitian food at this restaurant almost out of sight in a Bridgeport strip mall. The food is spicy in the Caribbean manner. Staff are friendly and helpful, and they have weekend parties that I must get to eventually! Highly recommended ...read more

El Morivivi Restaurant

5.0

By Llantin

No other place tops the Morivivi in quality & quantity of the food. They have a nice mix of Puerto Rican & Dominican Foods, Pizza, Candies, Desserts & Hispanic Sodas & Juices. Ive been eating there since I was a kid living around the corner on Jane Street. My only complaint is that I wish they stayed open later at night. By the time I get out of work they are already closed. ...read more

Omanel Restaurant

By Wayne Kendall

If your looking for a great meal, the comforts of home, stop by Omanel. The waiters are very happy to serve you. The amount of food coupled with the taste will keep you coming back time and time again. But don't tell to many people, this is my hidden secret. Laughing, my wife and I make it a once a month stop and everytime we come out says, "just love this place" Enjoy W ...read more

Vazzy's Brick Oven Restaurant

5.0

By Tom McGovern

Vazzy's is one of the best restaurants and caterers in Connecticut. I have attended numerous events that Vazzy’s has catered and have always found the prices fair, the food excellent and the service superb. I have had personal dealings at party’s, with the manager Ken mentioned by the previous reviewer. I have always found him polite and willing to make guests at the parties I have attended, feel they are truly being ”catered to”. If you want to have a great party, I feel Vazzy’s would be a great choice. ...read more

Terra Brasilis Restaurant

5.0

By VinceT at Citysearch

On a recent trip to Connecticut a friend brought me here for lunch. This is a charming little rest. in the heart of Bridgeport. They have a single buffet table and a grill section serving some of the best food I have ever eaten. Normally when you have buffet food one or two of the dishes are good, a few are ok, and the rest leave you wondering why you put that stuff on your plate. That is not the case at Terra Brasilis! I tried a little bit of everything they had to offer and it was all out of this world. I would reccomend this place to anyone looking for a fantastic meal. ...read more

Vazzy's Brick Oven Restaurant

1.0

By J. Scalzi

Ken in your Milford Vazzys is rude and not a business man at all when dealing with the public. How can a customer be quoted a price, not once, but twice...when food delivered at my home was $60 more?? Ken was rude and even though he acknowledged his mistake, told me that either I pay or send it back....Ken was, in fact the person who verified the amount due the very morning og our party. I realize he is Johnnys nephew, but this is bad business for all the Vazzys. ...read more

Bloodroot Vegetarian Restaurant

5.0

By dellal62 at Citysearch

The Bloodroot Restaurant is very likely the best vegetarian restaurant in the country and will remain in my mind as one of the best restaurants of any variety at which I've had the pleasure of eating. Atmosphere, views, excellent food, there's even a bookstore. They are celebrating their 31st year -- an amazing feat for any small business especially a restaurant. I bought their first cookbook when I became a vegetarian and have used that book faithfully for the last 25 years.\t\n\t\nWhat do I love? Fresh bread & scrumptious desserts are made daily. The menu is seasonal & local , organic ingredients are emphasized. The Bloodroot women take standard American and ethnic flavors and improve them by using high quality ingredients and subtle culinary skills, capturing what you love about a dish but removing the meat. Many of their recipes are now vegan.\t\n\t\nThis is real food for real hunger. I recently had dinner with my wife at Bloodroot and our meals were exceptional: on my plates were a beautiful hearty escarole soup, fresh hot whole wheat bread, a generous tossed salad dressed to perfection, and a piece of vegan lemon curd pie -- zesty with an perfect crust. My wife had faux Thai chicken which had a delicate under note of coconut, along side oatmeal sunflower bread that was soft and luscious, and chocolate cake. And this chocolate cake was worth Every calorie.\t\n\t\n While you're at the Bloodroot, pickup copies of their new 2 volume cookbook. This place is wonderful! ...read more

Bereket Turkish Restaurant

5.0

By Eleni

This restaurant is amazing! Until I found Bereket, I thought the only good Turkish food was in Turkey. Likewise, if you are a fan of Greek cuisine, there will always be something you will enjoy in Turkish food which has similar base dishes but runs off the beaten course with the mantı and kebap. Also, the owners are *super* friendly and there is an unspoken BYOB policy (no corking fee). They are NOT just take out (which I erroneously thought first time there). There is a patio in the rear with seats/tables and has a roof in case of inclement weather. The yoghurt is homemade for sure like the cacık (tzatziki). HUGE portions for fair prices! ...read more

How Do Restaurants Make Enchiladas?

Many people think that an enchilada in a restaurant is much better than anything they can ever find at home, unless they know a lot of Hispanic people.
