The sooner you can have your papers served, the sooner your case can roll forward, and the sooner you can resolve it and get back to normal. So, the question you need to ask yourself is, "How can I ensure that the other party gets served as quickly as possible." Here are some pointers to consider. 1. Do not brag or threaten to the other party that you are going to sue them. If the other party is likely to be uncooperative, all you are doing is giving them a heads so that they will know to look out for and avoid a process server. Be cool and just keep your mouth shut. It is easier to get your documents served if the other party is not expecting anything. 2. Collect as much information as you can that will help a process server to find and confirm that they have the correct party to serve. Ensure the address you provide is correct as most Process Server will charge a separate fee for each address attempted and for each party served. Provide photos of the person to be served if you can, personal identifying description of the person to be served, and a description and license number of vehicles that the party may own if you can.
