so how many of you have gotten a job from this place and how many of you have NOT??I just went there yesterday, and now i feel like my hopes are down. at first i was told its a guarantee, then yesterday i was told its not a guarantee after i have paid the $59. Not just that, i was told all i had to do was pay the one time fee, register and post my resume on their job site, and they will match me up with employers, now im being told i have to apply for the jobs. and yes, i do notice that all the jobs that i saw on their site, was all the jobs that i've seen and applied multiple time through, indeed, careerbuilder, monster and snagajob. now, im really thinking this was really a scam. :( ...read more

Are you prepared to pay for 5 years to get a 4 year degree?

It now takes most students five years, or more to complete a four year college degree. Some of this is due to class scheduling, some is due to students work schedules, some is due to laziness, but most of it is due to the student changing majors one or more times. Maybe, you would like to save the cost of an extra year’s tuition? Maybe, you would like to get a quicker start on life and start with a lot less student debt?  The answer lies in planning your college career before it happens. If you don’t know where you are going, almost any way will get you there. When you do discover where you want to go, you may have to take a whole different path to get there. The first step in knowing where you want to go is to know yourself. If you know your values, you will know what motivates you. You will know what rewards are the most important to you. If you know your own unique blend of behavioral styles, both natural and adapted, you will know how you are most comfortable and effective in dealing with problems, people, your environment and restrictions imposed by others. If you know these things about yourself, then you can begin an educated research of potential careers. You can see which paths require your strengths and which ones a stumbling blocks for your weaknesses. You can see which ones will produce the rewards that are really important to you. You can see which ones nurture your natural behavioral styles.  The time to begin learning about yourself and considering your career is not in the middle of your junior year of college. It is in your freshman or sophomore year of high school. You will have several years to learn more about yourself and more about which subjects and activities challenge and reward you. You can enter college with a focus on your education and a clear path to your future. You can also save yourself a great deal of time, money and frustration. If you would like to learn about a structured process for learning about yourself and research careers options, please visitwww.benchmarkjobsnotpeople.comor contact Nik Nikkel at 1-866-50-3272. ...read more

Turnover the Same Old, Same Old?

DOING THE SAME THING OVER AND OVER AND EXPECTING DIFFERENT RESULTS That phrase has frequently been offered as a working definition of insanity. It is countered by Einstein’s comment that “The same thinking that created the problem cannot solve the problem.”  The trap is that insanity and the thinking that created the problem are comfortable to us and change is a spooky unknown. It’s even worse when we know what we are doing or thinking is not working for us, but we do not know what will. I don’t think any of us is short on people that are willing to tell us what we are doing wrong and what they want us to do to be right. Well, what’s right and wrong and works for them is fine, but it does not meet our needs. First, outside of the obvious moral and legal codes there is no right or wrong way for everyone to act. Second, it seems that huge amounts of our personal problems come from being too concerned with how other people want us to act. The key is probably to act in a way that is consistent with our own values and styles and bring our best skills to our work. Maslow once said that “Before you can change a man, you must change his awareness of himself.” Like many brilliant statements this is just plain obvious, once you hear it and think about it. If you are going to change, you need to know where the starting point is. You need to be aware of yourself. Going back to doing things right, or wrong, context has a lot to do with it. What is just so wrong in a customer service job may be absolutely perfect in a systems design job. What is a great attitude and style in inside sales is often a disaster in outside sales. If there is a major problem in your performance, or your happiness with your performance, is may simply be that there is a bad match. A great job and a great person are very often not a great match. Values, styles and skills clash instead of harmonizing and there is no sound of music. How much do you know about yourself? Do you know what order your six basic values or motivators fall in? Do you know your unique blend of behavior styles from the way you solve problems to how you contact with people? Can you name the 7 or 8 strongest of your 23 personal skills? Learning these important things about yourself can be the beginning to changing your life. Maybe, you need to change jobs, companies, or professions. Maybe, you just need to improve the one or two skills that hold you back from being a superstar. Maybe, you just need to understand you values and seek better opportunities to satisfy them.  The first step is to change your awareness of yourself. Once you are aware of what is holding you back, you can begin to move yourself in the direction you chose through reading, seminars, or coaching and, most important, action.
