To anyone who like myself, has managed to be 58 years old and never had a bit of transmission work needed. well my Dodge van which is my bread and butter for my carpet business finally had it. started giving me problems slipping, leaking badly and the final blow on 4th of July at the beach with my Daughter, no reverse. Having much experience with engine and mechanical repairs but zero with transmissions, I was at a loss. Saying a prayer to be led to who would help me for what I can afford without being ripped off because all I have heard over the years is 100 nightmares. I came across this shop on the web. I called them and spoke to Ed. He made an appointment for me to drop it off on the following Monday. I was nervous with what I might hear because I new the tranny was gone but had a calmness inside. The next day they inspected my tranny. I will tell you that it was not a surprise it needed a total rebuild, but the est. was very much a good surprise. I approved it and again in opposite of so many nightmarish stories I have heard, Ed told me it would be ready by Friday. Now I already met Rick the technician there who said he would be doing the actual work and I just had a sense that this guy can assemble a tranny blind folded like I could an M-16 in the military. Ok let me wrap this up. I was right. Like clockwork I got a call 2:00 on Friday afternoon that my van was ready for pick up. Rick explained to me everything he did on it shook my hand looked me straight in the eyes and with full confidence said "You have basically a NEW transmission. If you EVER have any problem with your transmission, we are a no questions asked shop and it will be taking care of" I waited almost 3 weeks to write this because I wanted to really have time to see it in all conditions and situations. This van has not felt like this in years. it climbs hills like I just drove it out of the dealership brand new. I'm loving driving it again. Also I must say that this is not one of those shops that looks like stuff is around all over for about 20 years. It's clean and organized like I have not seen any repair facility in a very long time. Rick is what I thought he would be. A master of his art. Ed was right on the money with me and kept his word to the letter. Do I recommend these guys? Hell yeah. This company is the best one around! I took my car down there to get my transmission looked at because it was making a whistling noise. Ed greeted me at the door and made me feel real at ease with my car situation. After an inspection of my transmission he called and explained what was going on with it and did a break down of the costs to help me understand. Being a woman, I was nervous not being able to understand what needed to be fixed. Ed did an amazing job. He is a genuine honest mechanic along with his workers. If you are having any type of transmission issues or other issues take it to them. This shop is amazing! They are fast and thorough. Ladies who have no idea where to take their broken car, go to ED. His shop will take care of you. ...read more
