I was fortunate enough to find "Car-Tech" and the owner "Ray" some years ago. I have a Subaru that doesn't need much service and an older model Porsche that rarely gets driven but with either car I feel as though I have never gotten better service ever, anywhere-not even close to the quality of car care Ray gives my vehicles. As an added bonus his pricing is ALWAYS under his competitors and he is a personal, honest man-a rare commodity in the retail market these days. Honda owners please read. As a loyal customer of Econo lube for at least the last 10 years, it’s disappointing that I have to write this negative review. I was advised last time I came in for an oil change that I needed a transmission flush. I had read that you should not flush your transmission and I took my car to Mel Rapton Honda for a second opinion. The service manager at Mel Rapton informed me you should NEVER flush a transmission on a newer Honda Civic. It only requires a drain and refill. The $300 quote from Econo lube was now a $50 service at the dealership. This next discovery was huge!! When I asked for an oil change they explained I didn’t need one. Newer Hondas can go 6 months to a year without an oil change and to go by the maintenance monitor on the dashboard. In 3 months my oil life was still at 70%. Econo Lube told me the exact opposite that I needed to change my oil every 3 months or 3,000 miles whichever comes first. I’ve had my current vehicle for the past 3 years and Econo Lube has been ripping me off. I plan to file a complaint with the BBB and will share this information with the friends, family and coworkers I’ve referred to their shop over the years. I made an advanced appt. For coupon service. I was given a one to one half hour time estimate. I commented that was dependant on coordinating at least three groups on a holiday weekend and impressive. I waited for vehicle. It was back to me in two hours and thirteen minutes (yes, I timed it). All sparkling and whiney from a fresh wash and with apologies for the delay. I was Ve r Happy with results, but feel time estimate may have been pushing it a bit and told t g e rep. as such.
