Truly one of the best pest control services in Northern California. I had rodents issue in my basement and when they started invading our kitchen, I knew I had to do something. I called Pest Pros. Firstly, they did an inspection and told me that rodents came from a small hole and started breeding in my basement. They got rid of the rodents and properly sealed the way so no other rodent can enter my house again. ...read more

One of the hardest things that many homeowners inSacramentoface during the spring is finding the right pest control company to come out and spray their home for bugs. This guide will give you our top tips to hiring the right exterminator no matter where you are in the United States or if you are looking for aSacramento Pest ControlCompany. Understand What Type of Bugs You Need To Get Rid Of Different types of bugs require different types of treatments, for example and ant infestation or spider infestation most of the times can be eliminated with a one time treatment. However, cockroaches and bed bugs will require multiple treatments and at times is will be cheaper to tent the entire house depending on the severity of the infestation. One of the worst things you can do if you think that there is an infestation is wait, as the problem will only get worse. If you are in the sacramento area and need a quote feel free to call us at (916) 333-3738 and we will be more than happy to take your call. Know When To Call A Pest Exterminator Know your limitation on what you can do yourself. It is ideal to call pest management professional, pest control technician when you have an infestation of cockroaches, bedbugs, ticks, termites, bees, spiders, and even ants. Some bugs such ascockroachescarry E-coli and salmonella on their bodies and can also cause or intensify health problems related to allergies and asthma.Tickscan cause Lyme disease by biting you, this is a dangerous condition often associated with Typical symptoms including fever, headache, fatigue, and a characteristic skin rash called erythema migrans. Ants can contaminate your food, and bees or wasps can cause injuries and trigger dangerous allergic reactions. Good home maintenance and proper sanitation can help control household pests, but despite your best efforts, some types of pests can be tough to control. Insects, rats, and mice can quickly turn into a big problem that you’re not equipped to handle, which is when you need to turn to professional pest control services. You want your pest problem taken care of efficiently and quickly, but how do you choose from the many companies available? Use the following tips to make sure you choose the right pest control company for your needs. Tip #1 – Check Out Their Qualifications Check out the qualifications of the company, ensuring that technicians on staff have current licenses. Reputable pest control companies will ensure that they are properly licensed to conduct business and will have regular correspondence with the various regulators and government agencies ensuring that their operations are safe for consumers. Find out how staff members are kept up to date on changes in products, safety, regulations, and techniques. You want to make sure the technicians are qualified and well-trained for the job. Tip #2 – Ask About Pest Control Experience Ask how long the company has been in business and verify by checking reputable websites such as Manta, BBB, or Yellowpages for information about the business. Many of these online citation websites will share past customer reviews as well as when the business was established and who owns the company. Specifically ask about your unique pest problem, if they don’t sound confident that they can address it then simply move on. Does the pest control company have plenty of experience handling pest problems like the one you’re dealing with? Does your problem require unique treatment and are they able to accommodate those requests? Tip #3 – Evaluate Their Reputation The reputation of a company is important, so start talking to friends, family members, neighbors, and coworkers about local companies. Ask for recommendations, or if you have a company in mind, see if others have worked with the company. Don’t rely solely on advertising for information on a company offering pest control services. You can check the Better Business Bureau to learn more about the company and even ask for customer references from the company. You can also check their yelp and google business reviews, to see if they do good business and how they treat their customers. Keep in mind many normal customers do not usually leave reviews when the service is good. Normally customers are motivated to leave reviews when the service is bad, but many good reviews means that they must offer extraordinary customer service. Tip #4 – Consider their Prices for Pest Control Ask the company for a written estimate for their services. The best companies are happy to offer free estimates. It’s a good idea to get estimates from multiple companies so you can compare rates. But you also need to look beyond the price, looking at guarantees on work, what’s included in the estimate, and whether you’re required to sign a long-term contract. Tip #5 – Pay Attention to Customer Service You want to work with a pest control company that offers excellent service, so when you’re looking for a company, pay attention to how the employees treat you. Do they address you with respect and listen to your concerns? Are they able to explain pest problems and the extent of your infestation to you? Are they happy to talk to you about treatment details, such as product selection? Tip #6 – Remember Safety is Important Last, remember that safety is a big concern when you’re considering pest control services. Does the company have insurance to cover their employees, you, and your property? Do they take measures to prevent unnecessary accidents and exposures? Is the company willing to talk about reducing environmental risks and going with low-toxicity options? Insect, rat, and mice infestations pose serious health dangers, so it’s important to have a professional take care of these pests as quickly as possible. Hire a professional pest control company that specializes in rodent control and treating other infestations to ensure your home is safe for you, your family, and your pets. Did a Storm Damage Your Tree?

Winter storms cause tremendous stress and severe damage to trees in our urban forest. Obviously, a snapped or downed tree should be removed. What about a tree that suffers minor or moderate damage? How can a homeowner tell if a tree is safe or not?  Assessing the damage  Minor damage – with only the smallest branches of the tree being injured – usually results in little or no permanent injury to the tree. All that is required is cleanup of the broken twigs and branches and perhaps a crown cleaning to restore a pleasing shape. Moderate damage – large broken branches, split crotches, removal of bark and splitting or splintering of the trunk – can be caused by strong winds and heavy ice storms. When a tree is severely damaged, the first question that must be answered is: “Is the condition of the tree such that keeping it is worthwhile?” A tree care professional should be consulted to answer this question. Most professional arborists will take the time and effort to save a tree only if the tree will still be healthy, attractive and of value to the property owner after repairs are completed. However, we may recommend removal of a tree that has brittle wood and a branch structure that makes it vulnerable to additional damage from future storms. Trees that have been topped by storms can be prime candidates for removal, due to the severity of damage.  Other factors to consider when determining if a tree is worth saving:  • Species – Is this type of tree prone to pests and other problems? • Age – Is the tree mature or over-mature? • Vigor – What health condition was the tree in before the damage?  • Value it adds to the property – Does the tree still have value, even if partially damaged?  • Sentimental value – Is the tree a living monument? If a tree is not worth saving, remove it as soon as possible. If it is not removed and the tree dies, it could become a hazard tree. Removal of hazard trees is dangerous to the tree care crew and requires special techniques, adding to the overall cost.  Treating the tree  Assuming the decision has been made to repair the tree, the next question is: “Am I capable of repairing the damage myself or should I seek professional help?” Major repair will undoubtedly require the use of a chain saw and climbing equipment. Unless one is experienced in the use of such equipment and comfortable working off the ground, it would be best to have the work performed by a qualified professional. The Tree Care Industry Association maintains a list of member companies in your area. Inspect your trees for damage after a storm. If a tree has hazards, such as broken, hanging limbs or a split branch union (sometimes called a branch fork), you should have a reputable tree care company give an assessment. This is important because you could be held liable if the hazard branch or tree falls and damages property or causes personal injury.  What should you do?  Homeowners who would like a professional arborist to assess their trees should contact us Props Tree&Landscape;, Inc. We are Licensed, Insured, Bonded, and Accredited by the Tree Care Industry Association (TCIA).  TCIA has the nation’s only Accreditation program that helps consumers find tree care companies that have been inspected and accredited based on: adherence to industry standards for quality and safety; maintenance of trained, professional staff; and dedication to ethics and quality in business practices.
