Dear CLCID Members and supporters, The AB2482 “Registered Interior Designer” (RID) has been pulled off the agenda for today’s hearing. It is dead for now. CLCID’s Legislative Watch will continue to monitor the situation since the resurrection of AB2482 (RID) may still be possible NOW. Congratulations to all of you who worked so hard responding to our call of actions. Your opposition resonated through the halls of the Capitol, you made a difference. Your involvement helped stop AB2482 early in the process, saving time and thousands of dollars of the organizations’ revenue opposing the bill; ultimately saving taxpayer’s over a million dollars to implement such a Bill. Today, your stance has helped many interior design professionals, students, educators and businesses feel relieved from the worries of what was going to happen if AB2482 (RID) had passed. Thank you! This shows we can come together as a unified VOICE and also demonstrates the importance of LEGISLATION in our community; everyone has a part in it. Let’s not forget how we came together on AB2482 (RID) protecting our rights and continue to support CLCID on other domestic issues affecting our interior design community. CLCID will continue, through DirectLink, to keep you informed about issues that are important to our members and their practices.
