My son's girlfriend (age 18) "Jane" saw this Dr. on 4 different occasions for treatment for an eating disorder. Four months later she started receiving phone calls from the office insurance biller (Dr's wife) that "Jane" is irresponsible for not providing insurance information to them and that if she does not pay for these visits NOW she would be sent to small claims court. She also said she had called "Jane" 8 times which was a lie! I offered to help since "Jane" was so upset and I was familiar with dental billing procedures. Upon calling the biller she took an immediate defensive tone and said she can NOT talk to me (even though "Jane" gave me permission). I said I want to simply resolve this issue. She hung up on me twice and in a rude tone said she will not talk to me. I left a message for the Dr. himself (who does not have an office phone or staff to answer the phone). He called "Jane" back in a condescending tone and said that he will work it out- she needs to come back in for more treatment... When I explained to the Dr. I wanted to talk to him he continued to ramble on and ignored everything I said as if I wasn't even speaking. Turns out the Dr. took the insurance info at the first visit but did nothing with it. This Dr. should not even be treating patients with eating disorders! He even had the eating disorder insurance diagnosis code WRONG! I understand this is very specialized and not many docs are qualified- especially not him! Most importantly in the field of mental health, in no way should this young woman "Jane" be subjected to this emotional stress when the doc should have been aware of her already fragile mental state. This is an unprofessional business that you want to AVOID! ...read more
