4 Easy Steps to Achieve That Flawless Airbrush / Spray Tan

A MUST For Flawless Natural Looking Airbrush TanPlus, How to PREPARE Your Skin for Your Airbrush tanStep 1 - Exfoliating You MUST exfoliate your skin before you come in for your tan. There are many different types of exfoliating mitts available on the market today but the one EO Tan recommends is theMicrodermaMitt. The mitt will remove the top layer of dead skin so you have a clean surface for the sunless solution to adhere too. You KNOW this mitt is working because you can see the dead skin roll off. I recommend using the MicrodermaMitt up to 24 hours before your tan. Do NOT use this mitt right before your tan. Step 2 - Pedicure and ManicureMake sure you get your pedicure and manicure out of the way. Otherwise, the scrubs, acetone and other liquids used by the nail salons will rub some of the airbrush tan from your skin. Keep in mind that after your airbrush tan, you cannot take a shower, go to the gym and sweat, or have any sort of liquid drip on you for 8-10 hours.  Step 3 - Bathe CorrectlyPlease take your shower as close to your appointment as possible. Taking a shower hours before your appointment (for example, before you go to work) could affect how dark and even your tan turns out. simply because we sweat, we produce oil, we put lotion on, etc. Remember, your body naturally releases oils from your skin to protect it. This creates a barrier from the sunless solution absorbing correctly into your skin and developing like it should. If you need to shave, please do so. Once you are done shaving you will want to prepare your skin for tanning with a sunless scrub. There are many different sunless scrubs on the market, just make sure you use one that is dedicated to sunless tanning; NOT facial or body scrub (such as St. Ivory).Click Here for sunless scrub. It is best if you can shower and use the sunless scrub as close to your appointment as possible.Let's use an analogy to help you understand. Now, imagine painting your walls in your house with a high gloss paint. After it is dry I want you to paint it again with another color and see how it turns out. You will notice it looks streaky and almost impossible to get coverage. Well, your skin is the same way when you have a lot of oil or makeup blocking the sunless solution from doing its job. Now, imagine painting a wall with Kilz Primer. Once the primer is dry start painting the wall. You will notice that the paint is easy to apply and you get even coverage. Once again, this is just like your skin. Your are using a primer (sunless scrub) to get your canvas ready to be painted. Before Your Spray Tan, DO NOT use bar soaps, fragrance body wash, hydrating body wash or anything that hydrates or moisturizes your skin.  Step 4 - MakeupIt is best not to apply any makeup before your tan. Doing so can cause that barrier I talked about. If you must wear makeup it is okay to wear eye products, and lip products.Thank you and I hope this helps you prepare for your next airbrush tan. Kaiser Info Protect yourself and others this cold and flu season

Protect yourself and others this cold and flu seasonCold and flu season is here, and it's a rough one. While both cause sneezing, coughing, and runny noses, flu symptoms are often more severe and can include fever, fatigue, and body aches.Just because people around you are sick, you don't have to get sick, too. You can keep yourself healthy by practicing a little proactive prevention. And if you do catch a cold or flu, be mindful to help protect others.Handy tips for staying healthyWash your hands often.Frequent hand washing helps protect you from whatever bug is going around. Plain soap works just as well as antibacterial soap.Use hand sanitizer. The alcohol in sanitizer gels and wipes helps kill cold and flu viruses you pick up from any surface you touch.Keep your face hands-free.Try not to rub your eyes, nose, or mouth. Germs can enter your body this way, or be spread from your hands to others.Get your flu vaccine. Please call the flu shot hotline at1-866-70-NO-FLU (1-866-706-6358)for vaccine availability and locations. If you get sick, be kind to yourself and othersStay home and rest.Limit your exposure to others. Young children, seniors, pregnant women, and those with weakened immune systems are at higher risk of getting sick.Drink lots of fluids.Hot herbal tea, warm water, and chicken soup are especially good for congestion (runny or stuffy nose).Treat your aches and fever.Acetaminophen (such as Tylenol*) or ibuprofen (such as Advil*) can help provide relief. Be sure to follow the instructions on the label, especially for children. Stay home for at least 24 hours after your fever is gone without using fever-reducing medicine.Cover your sneeze or cough.Cough or sneeze into a tissue or your sleeve to trap the germs. If you cough into your hands, wash them as soon as you can. Use disposable tissues and throw them away immediately after each use.Viruses – not bacteria – cause colds, flu, and chest colds. Antibiotics don't kill viruses, so they don't work for colds or flu.Don't let a cold or flu become a setback. Stay well this season and thrive. If you reasonably believe you have an emergency medical condition, which is a medical or psychiatric condition that requires immediate medical attention to prevent serious jeopardy to your health, call911or go to the nearest Emergency Department. For the complete definition of an emergency medical condition, please refer to yourEvidence of Coverage (EOC).*Kaiser Permanentedoes not endorse the medications or products mentioned.
