Chaparral Elementary School

Chaparral Elementary school is a great school indeed. My child attends the before and after school E.S.S. program and the teachers are all fantastic and helpful. The director is extremely capable and nice.\t\nMy only complaint is that the teachers stifle how the children play and have been playing for thousands of years. For example, I walked out onto the playground one day to pick up my son and i saw two boys being told "Stop! Stop! We don't play like that here and you know it!" What were the boys doing to be told that? They were throwing a soft rubber ball at each other and were laughing and having a good time while doing it. So basically, as a warning, tell your kids to make sure they play extremely soft with each other and absolutely no pretend fighting or wrestling or else they will be written up and it will be considered a serious matter. When i was a kid growing up the teachers NEVER had to do a write up on a kid because they were playing too rough, they just told them to stop doing it. Now, they act as if your 5 year old who pushed another kid while in the act of mutual rough play just committed a serious felony.\t\n Having said all of this, I look forward to my child's next several years at Chapparal elementary school.\t\n ...read more
