Crown Cleaner

I have never written a negative review before but I have to do this to protect other customers from Crown Cleaners. My experience with the staff (who are part-owners) at Crown Cleaners has been the worst customer service experience in my entire life! \t\n\t\nCrown Cleaners destroyed my $3000 wedding dress. They tried to clean it twice and ended up shrinking it and completely ruined the material. The first time I went to pick it up new stains appeared on front of the dress. They offered to send it back to their plant again to have it "fixed" and ended up destroying it. They WET washed my silk dress and it shrunk 4 inches and is now discolored and damaged. It was a very high quality stiff bright white flattering silk beforehand and now looks grayish and limp. \t\n\t\nWhen I requested a refund for the cleaning $150, they had me bring the dress in and try it on for them. I was so upset when I tried the dress on that I began to cry. The female owner LAUGHED at me - while I was crying standing in front of her in my shrunken wedding dress. When I asked her if she was laughing at me, she replied, "What am I supposed to do? Cry?" I was horrified at her response and how she handled this situation. \t\n\t\nI took my wedding dress to the designer yesterday and she was very disappointed with the state of the dress. She confirmed that the material looked WET washed. Crown cleaner denies wet washing it and has used every excuse in the book to deny responsibility for ruining the dress. They have said: the material is poor quality, the care label wasn't detailed enough - it says "100% silk - dry cleaning only", they said I should have given them specific cleaning instructions, etc. They are the dry cleaners, it is their business to know how to clean a garment and if they don't know, they should have called the designer to ask or done a little research on-line. \t\n\t\nIf you are considering taking any item of clothing that you care about to Crown Cleaners, I would suggest going around the corner to "Quality Cleaners" and if you have a wedding dress, I urge you to do extensive research on the cleaner you choose. I made a mistake you can only make once. My custom made wedding dress that I planned to save for my future children and family has been destroyed. And they won't even refund me for the cleaning! $150 means more to them than keeping customers happy. If they had acted professionally, taken responsibility, and refunded me to begin with I would not have written this review. The fact that they laughed at me while I was crying makes them exceptionally terrible business owners! ...read more

Crown Cleaner

I gave a table cloth with a coffee stain for cleaning at Crown Cleaners. The table cloth came back with the coffee stain and a hole in it. It looked like it had either been burned or scrubbed over a rock. The owners tried to tell me that the hole was there when I brought the table cloth. They were rude beyond belief and did not reimburse me for the cost of cleaning much less the table cloth. It's hard to say which was worse, the dry cleaning or their service ...read more
