For women finding a good self defense program, can be overwhelming. What type of self defense is best??  There are many questions that first need to be answered. I here many people say that women need to be able to kick hard in order to defend themselves. Yes I agree a good hard kick can be very effective. But many women are attacked from behind, and or the attacker closes in very fast unexpectedly and there is no time to kick. I have had a few situations where I got into a confrontation and didn't have time to even punch! Am I won the World championships with my favorite technique being my punch!!! Women must have a balanced self defense program, where they have a few choices of techniques from the standing position/ someone behind/ and many other common position which are known relevant to reported assaults Self defense programs need to be broken down into very simple effective techniques that are easy to drill.
