I contacted Folkrod Plumbing on 9/27/2011 and left a message that my water heater had a problem as it was releasing water from the pressure system. I also let them know that the copper piping would need to be cut to access the pressure release value. Tim Horn called back less than an hour later and set up an appointment between 1:30 and 2:30 pm the same day. This was impressive!! Tim arrived between the time he estimated and estimated the repair cost at under $150. Within 40 minutes the problem was solved, the repair site cleaned up and the job complete. I asked him his opinion for future repairs and concerns and he was quick to respond with options and recommendations. Thank God for Mid Coast Plumbing today! I woke up to my water heater leaking and flooding out my garage this morning! Ive used Mid Coast before and always been happy with thier work. I called them and they were able to come out right away!! The technician got right to work and was able to repair my water heater without trying to sell me a whole new unit. There are several reasons you may need to repipe your home or business's plumbing. Degeneration in the quality of the pipes may cause low water pressure, rusty colored water, or leaky pipes. And if you live in a hard-water area, lime and other mineral deposits may cause flow problems like slow warming of water to hot or inconsistent water temperatures. In older houses, you may even have lead pipes, which don't corrode as easily but which do present a serious health hazard to children. Repiping should not wait until you start noticing leaks. Watch for signs associated with degenerating pipes, such as flakes of dark material in your water, odd-tasting tap water, or decreasing water pressure. Many homeowners think the "squeeze" test is adequate -- this is, when you squeeze a pipe in your hand or between your fingers, looking for leaks in the joint that show up when the pipe gives a little.
