I found this restaurant by luck and decided to give it a try. Although it is not a big one (with about 20 tables) and 1.5 waitress, the dishes are good and delicious. Their "fry dishes" are good. We ordered Hunan Lamb, Beef Chow Fun, Minced Chicken in Lettuce Cups, Bamboo Village Special Pan Fried Noodles, Szechwan Dan-Dan Mein. Hunan Lamb is the best. From the waitress, we learnt that they have been servicing for over eleven years. They have cooks form Southern and Northern China. I have gone to this establishment a few times throughout the years and wasnt very impressed but after my friend had gone to work here and then walked off of the job I have never been and will tell everyone what I have learned. She says that she walked off the job because they recycle food. i.e salads, mashed potatoes and everything else they can. The service was bad, the salad dressing was bottled Ranch, the entrées were much to be desired. There was nine of us and we had reservations. They put a little old, short round table so two people had to sit lower then the rest of our party. There was an available square table, but refused to let our party use it. It was empty the whole time we were dinning. The waitress (owners wife ) was nasty then added a 20% tip to bill for herself. Overpriced dinners!! $12.00 for a cocktail.. First time was bad service and terrible food.. shame on Tasso second time, same on me for going back. Live in Gilroy and certainly will tell friends, family, co-worker, acquaintances, not to patronize this restaurant. The rest of the party are going to tell even more people!! ...read more
