In the Tropics Tanning is decent compared to other tanning salons as far as their tanning beds, but the Smoothies part is misleading. Although its a good concept, they are always out, or their machine is broken, or the ingredients I want are never there. The two owners are wonderful, but the rest of their staff should get re-evaluated. When I go there, and its the owner, everything is organized. When the other girls are running it, either the beds havent been cleaned, the towels or wipes are missing, or once when I used their Versa Spa, none of the materials needed (barrier cream, shower cap, towels, etc.) were out, and when I asked about them, they told me it was all in a drawer in the corner. This place was NOT CLEAN. I got a horrible reaction from the tanning bed. I had raised WELTS where ever my skin touched the glass as it had not been cleaned. I called and spoke with the OWNER who was aware of what happened, she apologized and 'canceled' my membership. However ~ My card was CHARGED FRAUDULENTLY the following month. My bank has filed papers on my behalf to take care of this. Please BEWARE of this UNLEAN FRAUDULENT salon. Do not give them your bank information. ...read more
