New Gold Star Benefits

At this time of year, most businesses are looking at their 2012 budgets and evaluating the expenditure of every dollar.  The economic forecasts are still mediocre at best, and every dollar has to buy more.  Your Woodland Chamber can help.  The Woodland Chamber has been looking for ways to give you even more value for your business dollars, and we have developed several new benefits that won't cost you any additional dollars.  The Gold Star membership program has been a tool that Chamber members have had available to add enhanced web presence in the past.  In 2012, we have expanded the Gold Star program to offer additional contact opportunities.  Now, when you become a Gold Star member by December 20, 2011, you have the option of having your business’s promotional brochure, card, discount card or coupon sent to every Chamber member in January, 2012 and throughout the entire year.  That’s powerful when you realize the Woodland Chamber membership represents over 2,000 employees representing the buying power of 2,000 households.  And there is no additional charge for this new value-added Gold Star benefit.  When you combine that with the web flyer, Chamber home page and subsequent page headers and advertising exposure Gold Star members already receive, it’s a no brainer. But wait, there’s EVEN MORE!  Don't have time to set up and maintain all the social media tools?  Let the Chamber promote your business on our social media pages.  In 2012, Gold Star members have access to social media venues through the Woodland Chamber’s pages.  That's right, harness the power of social media giants like MerchantCircle, Facebook and Twitter through Gold Star membership. Need MORE bang for your buck?  We have it: Enhanced business listing on the Woodland Chamber's website -- value:  $120 Mini-website flyer detailing your business products and services -- value:  $550 Animated featured business links on multiple Chamber website pages (how much does your 'banner ad' cost on other websites?) -- value:  $285 Featured Gold Star Business promotion in monthly newsletter -- value:  $ 60 Recognition in weekly e-blasts -- value: $ 60 Recognition on Chamber social media venues -- value:  variable Member-to-member special promotions -- value:  $85 That is over $1100 of advertising for your business for a paltry $100 annual investment!  The value of branding and brand recognition can't be overestimated, so get your company name and logo in front of your customers.  Become a Gold Star member of your Woodland Chamber of Commerce and get more, more benefits, more value and more business.  www.WoodlandWaChamber.com ...read more

Tired of Lousy Service??

Ati-deal Marketwe encourage all business owners to take a good look at what and how they are producing.  Especially in today's economy when money can be very tight, we as consumers are looking to get the very best product and service.  Unfortunately, businesses are also feeling the crunch and are trying to minimize their expenses by cutting labor or product costs.  This is especially noticeable in restaurants of small towns.  These businesses should be doing the opposite right now, putting their best foot forward.  It is completely understandable that today they are working on a rigid budget, however if they worked on increasing their customer rate or net per customer they would be much further ahead. Each customer should be assessed as having a lifetime value and treated as such.  Offering a customer anything less than their very best should not be tolerated by any business.  It is extremely difficult for an owner to keep a tight rein on all employees while verifying top quality service and product is being produced.  That is why we ati-deal Marketsuggest that all businesses get an unbiased review.  This is just one of the services that we happily provide free of charge to small businesses in Clark and Cowlitz County.Reach your potential without reaching for your wallet! If you have any questions regarding our services or would like to make an appointment to speak with one of our consultants, please feel free to call or e-mail us.i-deal MarketRhonda Clark360-232-4546save@i-dealmarket.com ...read more

Woodland Chamber Takes Issue With Olympia

The Woodland Chamber of Commerce sent a letter to their legislators in Olympia emphatically opposing any repeal to the Washington State Sales Tax Exemption for Oregon residents. The letter dated April 26, 2011 was posted on their website and then voted on by members at the Chamber's weekly lunch meeting on May 3rd. Representative Ed Orcutt of the 18th District was on hand to witness the vote.   In addition to their own letter, Woodland joined other Southwest Washington Association of Business Leaders (SWWABL) in a joint letter to legislators stating "We strongly oppose any effort to repeal the current sales tax exemption for out of state shoppers."   Both organizations moved very quickly when the issue came before the State legislators. Darlene Johnson and Mary Urban, both Board of Trustees Officers for the Woodland Chamber of Commerce, made the drive to Olympia to testify at the hearing on April 21, 2011, as did Kelly Parker, CEO&President of the Greater Vancouver Chamber of Commerce.   "This is a huge issue for border communities," states Tammie Howard, Executive Director of the Woodland Chamber. "Our businesses can't afford to lose sales, even if it is only a small percentage, it makes a difference. We feel the impact."   Johnson, a CPA and business owner in Woodland, agrees. "What small amount the state might make in sales tax they will lose in business revenue when sales decline and unemployment goes even higher," she states. In an area where the effective unemployment rate remains over 12%, that is a real concern. Both letters can be viewd at http://www.WoodlandWaChamber.com . ...read more

Spotted!

Woodland Chamber of Commerce&Visitors; Information Center Director Tammie Howard was spotted Monday, February 14 showing off her delivery list for the Valentine-A-Gram program by Loaves&Fishes. "It's a wonderful program, 100% of the proceeds go directly to Loaves & Fishes to help feed seniors in our community," says Howard. "Food insecurity of home bound seniors isn't as apparent as other segments of society, and maintaining weight can be the difference in preventing infection or disease for a senior.  And it is fun to show up and give someone a Valentine!  I would love to see this expand to Woodland." The Valentine-A-Gram program is one of the biggest annual fundraisers for Loaves & Fishes with components donated by Cinnabon, Jamba Juice, Seattle's Best Coffee, Shari's Restaurants and Sun Orchards.  All of the products are donated and the Valentine-A-Gram boxes are assembled and delivered by volunteers, so it is an extremely cost effective event. Loaves & Fishes Centers, The Meals-On-Wheels People, is a nonprofit, secular agency that has been meeting the social and nutritional needs of local area seniors since 1970.More than 5,000 meals are prepared daily. With the help of 450 volunteers each weekday, meals are delivered to homebound seniors through the Meals- On-Wheels program and served at 31 meal centers throughout Multnomah, Clark and Washington counties. ...read more
