MAKE YOUR HOME SAFE AND SECURE

Your home is your castle!  Home should be the one place on earth you feel safe and secure.  But is it?

Here are a few suggestions to help make your home secure.  One of the first things you will want to do when moving into a new house is to replace the exterior locks.  You and your family should be the only ones who can get into the house.

Look for crumbling walkways and loose boards or deteriorating steps in the porch or deck.  These must be fixed to avoid accidents and injuries.

Check all windows to make sure they lock properly.  Make sure all entryways as well as the edges of your property are properly lit.  Good lighting is not only safer, it is more secure because it can discourage would be burglars.

Check all smoke and carbon monoxide detectors to make sure they are in good working order.  If they are battery operated, replace the batteries with fresh batteries.

Consider a home security system.  Home security is a good deterrent to crime. In fact, your homeowner’s insurance company may offer you a discount on your premiums because you have a security system.

And remember; lock your doors at night and when you are not at home.  Most burglars just walk into houses because doors are left unlocked.
