Yes this is a common occurence when a roof is replaced. Roofers walking on the roof, all of the nailing taking place and the shingles being put on the roof all of these contributing factors lead to alot of stress and weight transfer from the rafters to the drywall which in turn creates your nail pops. You must read the fine print on your contract from your contractor to see what is covered and what is not. We have a supplemental page to our contract that states "what to expect when your roof is being replaced" that has to be signed before we commence any work. Let me know if this helps out at all and feel free to give us a call if you have any other questions. Bill Mitchell
By Bill Mitchell on January 02, 2009 at 09:48 AMWe just had our roof redone . . . classic shingle by owens corning. I have nail pops all over the apex of my ceiling in our family room after the roofing job was done . . . is this normal? This is going to be very costly to fix . . . is it my problem or my contractors?
