Ideation Session Purpose is to promote both innovation and problem solving through the facilitation of a dialogue within a group and hence increase the return on creativity in your organization. This is a participatory process by all in attendance which requires gaining commitments of implementation by the group. This may involve a number of key objectives and challenges such as stimulating creativity, generating and capturing ideas, engaging relevant expertise and valuating new concepts.

The ideation session will be based on the following steps:

Definition of Objectives – A description of the goal at the end of the session, the "What."
Where are we today - Analyze the current situation, which will be the point of departure.
Generate Ideas – Facilitate of ideas through an "out of the box" process.
Post-pone and withhold judgment of ideas - All ideas are potentially good.
Encourage wild and exaggerated ideas - It is much easier to tame a wild idea than to immediately think of a valid one.
Quantity counts at this stage, not quality - The more creative ideas a person or a group has to choose from, the better.
Build on the ideas put forward by others - HPS will build and expand on the ideas of each of the participants as inspiration to build a "group" idea by combining several of the suggested ideas to explore new possibilities.
Every person and idea has equal worth - Every person has a valid view point and a unique perspective on the solution.
Voting – After the completion of the ideation session each participant will vote for the top idea in each category of discussion.
Evaluation – Evaluate concepts against the success criteria or objectives desired.
Compilation of the results – HPS will compile all the ideas and produce a document that will summarize the results of the ideation session. This document will be presented to senior management initially for review and commentary.
