This is very important.  A perfume should never be allowed to dominate its surroundings.  Less is always more appropriate than more.  The most business like the occasion--lets say a business conference--the lighter, the more unobtrusive a perfume should be.   During the day, the lighter fragrances such as the Eau De toilette and the Eau De Cologne are quite appropriate.  For the evenings, the extraits, or more concentrated perfumes, are best.

During the warmer seasons,  fresh, sparkling, flowery notes are recommended.  During the wintertime, the opposite.  But unfortunately, no strict set of rules exists.  The manner in which a woman puts together a "fragrance wardrobe" to match her different moods and needs is wholly a matter of her own personal taste.
