Engine and Transmission Exchange in Waukesha and Milwaukee will begin emission testing for the State of Wisconsin starting June 1, 2012. 15 shops were selected from the 200 private inspection facilities to start 1 month early. We look forward to providing yet another service for our customers.  This will make getting your vehicle tested and renewing license plates very easy and convenient.
A new system for vehicle-emissions testing in southeast Wisconsin will begin July 1.

The new system will allow motorists to take their vehicle to as many as 200 private inspection facilities, such as car dealerships and repair shops, for testing. The testing will remain free for motorists.
Scott Selbach, DOT's supervisor of the vehicle emissions inspection program, said Tuesday that the new system will be less expensive. The current Envirotest contract costs $3,193,299 a year.

"This will provide greater options and convenience for customers, including the ability to have an emissions test performed while their vehicle is in for an oil change or other service," Selbach said.
