I have been going here for several years because they do have good, caring doctors. The receptionist and medical assistants have a lot to be desired. The reception area is always a mess and never has any reading materials. Right now I am on hold and have been on the phone for almost 15 minutes, they keep picking up the phone and putting me right back on hold without saying a word. When you go in, they all (except one) act as if thier time is more valuable than yours and can be very rude-most of the time. The other thing in the reception area no one has control of thier children - they run amuck. The office manager/staff should get a handle on that as well. ...read more

I was very worried after having complication, but Dr. Palen was professional and did all the testing and answered all my questions and concerns. Even did an early ultrasound so that we could ensure we heard the heartbeat and seen the baby's development very early in the pregnancy. He seems to be thorough and his staff is very polite. ...read more

Stress and Substance Abuse

People use drugs and alcohol for many different reasons. In most cases, particularly with alcohol, people use them in social settings. Alcohol has long been used in a variety of celebrations spanning back thousands of years. Even Jesus drank wine with his apostles at the last supper. However, when drug and alcohol use goes beyond a social setting is when it becomes a problem. People may use drugs and alcohol as a way to cope with the stresses of everyday like after a long day at work. Having a drink can be a nice, relaxing way to kick back after a hard day at the office, but when that drink turns into three, four, five, six and so on then someone might have an issue with substance abuse. There are many different ways for someone to cope with stress if they are concerned about a blossoming substance abuse problem. Here are a few tips to help manage stress so you don’t have to turn to substance abuse as a coping mechanism. The first step in managing your stress is realizing that you’re stressed out in the first place. You need to admit to yourself that anxiety is starting to have a negative effect on your life before you can begin to control it. Once you’ve identified the sources of your stress, then you can begin to make changes in your lifestyle. One of the best ways to manage stress is through exercise. Even if you don’t want to pump iron at the gym, just going for a run or walk around the block every other day can help keep your stress levels low while also keeping you physically fit. Exercise releases endorphins in the brain which make a person happier. Some people choose to exercise in the morning to set the mood for the rest of the day. Others like to hit the gym after work to blow off a little steam in a constructive way. Regardless of where and when you exercise, it still goes a long way in stress management. It may seem like a no-brainer, but getting enough sleep is another really important stress relief technique. Doctors and sleep experts recommend seven to eight hours of sleep per night, but we all know getting those hours can be difficult. Allotting enough time to sleep can really reduce your overall stress levels. If you or someone you know is struggling with an addiction to drugs or alcohol then contact the trained addiction specialists at Drug Rehab Help in Tucson, AZ when you get a moment. It can help a loved one live a healthy and prosperous life. ...read more

Why Rehab is an Important Step in Recovery | Drug Rehab Tucson, AZ

The word rehab carries a lot of stigmas. Nobody wants to go to rehab because that means you have problems which exist outside of your sphere of control. To go to rehab is to admit that you’ve been bested by a substance or action which controls you’re every waking moment. Addictions to things like shopping, gaming, or even to your cell phone are just as prevalent as addictions to drugs and alcohol. Do you need rehab for these addictions? Maybe, but for the most part, rehab is used in correlation to those looking to control substance abuse issues. There are many reasons why rehab is one of the most important steps in reaching sobriety. Some may be able to temporarily quit a substance on their own, but rehab puts in place more than just half the foundation for sobriety. Here are some of the most beneficial aspects of undergoing the rehabilitation process. The first and most obvious reason to attend rehab is because it will save your life. It’s no secret that people die every day from drugs and alcohol and substances cause death in more ways than one. An overdose happens quickly, but many people die from health problems caused by continual drug or alcohol abuse over a long period of time. Many people who drink are cigarette smokers as well so that’s just another substance on the list of fatal addictions.Getting clean is often not the hardest part however, it’s staying clean. You will be tempted by the same vices as soon as you leave rehab and that is the cause of many relapses. People go home and drop right back into the lifestyle they were living. Rehab can change that. Those who attend rehab enter into a system of support between counselors and other addicts. Upon leaving rehab, an addict has network of people available to them for support if (more like when) they get tempted to use again.Rehab is all about taking your life back. Drugs and alcohol can become so ingrained in our lives that they begin to call the shots, not the individual. Eventually every action is subconsciously motivated by substances. Rehab allows a person to get back in the driver’s seat so to speak and steer their life in the direction of their choosing. It allows a person to go back and rebuild relationships which were inevitably damaged by substance abuse. Many recovering addicts say that rehab allowed them to take back the simple pleasures in life. It made them realize that there was more to this world than just getting high.If you or someone you know is struggling with an addiction to drugs or alcohol, please call the people at theDrug Rehab Help in Tucson, AZ. You may be saving more than just someone’s life. ...read more
