The Best Ways to Clean Outdoor Playsets For Kids

The Best Material Used for Tube Slides

Tube slides are a favorite among children. They can enjoy hours or laughter, fun and physical exercise when a tube slide enters to the equation. If you have a play area at home, or considering adding one you should add a tube slide. Plastic and steel constructed tube slides are the best choices.

Plastic tube slides

Plastic tube slides can be roto molded and secured with steel rivets or bolts. Plastic tube slides are also available custom molded as a single piece. A single piece slide may seem like a good idea at first glance, but if the tube slide is going to be outdoors water drainage can become an issue. Roto molded slides allow water to drain from the slide at all the seams. No matter which type of plastic you choose, the slide will be durable and weather resistant. Plastic slides also do not hold heat as readily as a steel slide might. One disadvantage of a plastic tube slide is that certain plastics roughen over time, creating drag on the slide.

Steel tube slides

Steel tube slides are normally custom made. A rustproof welding material joins the seams. Steel tube slides are highly durable. They will not crack or break under pressure and they can be formed into much longer slides than plastic normally can safely. One disadvantage of a steel slide is that it can become very hot in the sun, so hot that it can burn a child. The location of a steel tube slide is more important than with a plastic slide. Steel slides generally stay smoother over time than a plastic tube slide.
