How to Make Gift Containers

Gift containers can be used for more than wrapping gifts. There are many people that use them to store their personal items. They are fairly easy to make and some people make their own containers as a way of saving money.

Using a gift container to store your trinkets is a great way to keep them in order. You can make your own containers by following a few simple instructions.

1. Take a square piece of cardstock paper and fold it in half.


2. Unfold the paper and fold it in half going in the opposite direction. You should now have four squares on the paper.


3. Fold the corners of the paper in so that they meet in the center.


4. Fold two of the sides of the paper toward the center, then unfold and fold the opposite sides. The ends do not have to meet in the center.


5. Unfold both the top and bottom of the paper, which will leave you with a point.


6. Pull the two sides up in a standing position. This should also be done with the top corner. You may need to pinch them inward to get them to stand up.


7. Fold down the top part of the corner that is sticking out above the flat sides.


8. Repeat steps 6 and 7 on the other corners on the box. This will be the top of your box.


9. Repeat the steps above to make the bottom of the box. There is only one exception, in step 4 the sides need to be folded completely to the center of the paper.
