Reviews of Ale House Attic
Great place to catch a game
Met up with some friends here last week. I had never been out to this part of Seattle and was happy to see this place out there. We went to watch the Gonzaga game and they had the sound on. It was a great, chill atmosphere and not at all stuffy like you would expect from this neighborhood. The nachos were really good and I had a meat loaf sandwich that was to die for. I would make the trip from West Seattle any time to watch another game here.

After a long week of cabin fever, I decided it would be nice to head down to The Attic to catch some football and have lunch. Upon arriving, I found the place to be very busy. Everyone seemed to be happy and having a good time. I posted up at the bar and was soon greeted by the staff and offered a beer. After ordering my beer, I noticed that the staff had their hands full! Not only was it busy, but they were having dishwasher issues and were having to wash every dish by hand! It didn't seem to phase them one bit, since the service was excellent and my burger (The Cluttered) was probably the best I've had in months. I would recommend this place to anyone that is looking for some great food and a comfortable atmosphere. I must say, I had a completely different experience than Slappygoodtime. I felt the staff to be very apologetic for the inconvenience and were only charging happy hour prices. If you going out to relax and have a good time, I would suggest The Attic in a heartbeat.

I discovered the Attic over the summer and have been going there about every week or so since. The service was always crappy, but tonight it was just too much. The restuarant was only about 1/3 full. The 4 servers spent the entire night hanging out behind the bar giggling and ignoring the customers. After about 25 minutes, someone dropped by to take our order. Our beer came about 10 minutes later in 8 ounce plastic cups. Our food showed up after about 10 more minutes. Never saw a utensil or a napkin. Server never came back to our table. We gave up after 20 minutes and just made a guess at how much our bill was. Left cash on the table and left. Avoid or go to Bings, which is only a block away.

I am a frequent patron of the Attic. Food has been greatly improved over the past 6 months or so. The service was a bit slower on the draw. HOWEVER, some very long over due changes in the serviuce staff have made the Attic a much more appealing draw. Be sure to try the Buffalo Bleu Bacon Sandwich. OUTSTANDING!! Big menu heavy on the sandwiches with a really unique and really tasty burger. 11 TV's make it the spot to catch a game.
By aroundthepark at Citysearch November 03, 2008 at 01:00 PMWonderful food, great beer and the Service was Wonderful!!!!
Went in with a group of friiends(8 of us) and we could'nt have been treated any better. The steak special was wonderful, the largest baked potato I have ever seen. With all the different Oktoberfest beers its hard to choose just one we shared a few pitchers. I recommend the hot wings they come with the thickest bleu cheese we have ever had, also try one of their salads it was huge, share with a friend. We all had a great time and we will be going back for more.

I had written something much longer as an email complaint to send to The Attic. Unfortunately (surprise, surprise) their email address is invalid. This seems consistent with their lack of concern for customers. I have eaten here a number of times, and always thought the food was very good, and the service not great, but acceptable. But this week, I received service rude enough that I probably will not go back again. We were treated with impatience, attitude, and confrontational behavior. I can only echo the sentiments of those other negative reviews on this page. Everything I wanted to say about it has been said by others below.\t\n\t\nI frequent a number of pubs around Seattle from time to time, and comparing "apples and apples" I would much rather go somewhere like Cooper's in Maple Leaf, for similar quality food, and respectful service.

I have patronized the Attic since I moved to Madison Park about 8 years ago. It is a great place to grab a beer with friends or a hearty breakfast on a Sunday morning. The beers on tap maintain a good variety with seasonal offerings and craft beers. \t\n\t\nAs far as the staff, I've seen many come and go through the years and although there are a couple of hard-liners (we all know who they are) the majority of the servers are quite pleasant. \t\n\t\nThe reason I keep coming back, and will continue to, is the Attic's wide selection of local beers, great food, and sports. Keep your Stella - I'll have a Manny's!

I have been going to the Attic for over forty years. It used be a happy friendly place. Under the current management you can't even get a question answered. The rib portions have shrunk and the Stella has disappeared. Why go back?

I don't know why people who, clearly, hate other people work in bars.\t\nThe Attic not only has one of these customer service award winners, but two.\t\nWhy people patron this place is beyond me. Maybe because of the 6 TV's they have mounted in every corner, or the acoustic balance that most bars can't deliver. Whatever it is the people of Madison Park need to stand-up for themselves and demand a respectable dive bar or sports bar that doesn't come with sarcastic attitude. Jeez, if you are going for sarcastic, at least have a comedic delivery. Call me when you go out of business. "Service curt and sloppy"
