Reviews about Universal Management
Unresponsive
I am currently a tenant living in one of the buildings and although the neighborhood is quiet it does not compensate for my elevator being out of commission for 2 months. Every time you call management you can never reach Phil or the receptionist is rude and quit clueless as to what is going on. I would have to advise everyone to stay clear of this management company. They are unresponsive and lackadaisical when it comes to fixing issues throughout the building. I cannot wait for my lease to be up so i can get out of this God forsaken building. If you are experiencing any of these issues i advise you to call 311 immediately and Bronx 12 trust me they will look into it!!!! Hope this is hopeful and saves you the headache...

I currently live in one of the buildings and I do love the neighborhood and the super is nice and responsive. However, the management agency is so unprofessional. When you call there, they act as if you are bothering them. The owner is just as rude. They try ti scare you into paying for things that are their responsibility as management agency. I've had to call the city on them to set them straight. The lady who is the receptionist for my building has a horrible attitude and doesn't know how to speak to people. She is very rude, nasty and Unprofessional. The only person who is nice is the older gentlemen who is in the office on Saturday when I go to pay my rent. I hate calling there because they're so UNPROFESSIONAL!

This company is TERRIBLE and I don't care who you are, it is not worth renting an apartment in one of their building, even if it is in a really nice location. Below are some of the ways that this organization was not only unprofessional, but unsafe.
#1. The first time I entered my apartment, I got locked inside the apartment because the lock was broken. The super was so unresponsive, he didn't even come to help get me out. I had to wait for a random person to free me.
#2. I don't know if it is the tenant's responsibility or our the management company's responsibility, but our fire alarm was not working and when we suspected as such, we contacted management. It took them more than a month to investigate - and only after we called/emailed/threatened at least 15 times. We ultimately just dealt with the issue ourselves.
#3. Our oven stopped working about two months after we moved into our apartment. Despite repeated attempts over 7 months, it NEVER got fixed - even when our super said t
