I live in Barrow; if you don't know where that is, look it up. In the bush, getting things fixed RIGHT and the first time we ship them in is important and valued.

More than 10 years ago, we bought a KitchenAide mixer, which promptly quit within a few weeks of coming out of the box. I had the choice of sending it back to a non-existent repair depot, or finding someone to fix it in Anchorage. I happened on K App., sent them the unit, and it was back within the week, fixed and it's worked fine since.

Recently, we were in Anchorage and had a broken Costco-bought vacuum; it uses a small V-belt to drive the brush. They not only had both drive belts for under $10, but told me the correct way to install it! I'm sure if I hadn't been successful with the DIY, they could have fixed the vacuum to new performance, in short order and for not a lot of money.

K App. has been in Anchorage for years and they're a resource!
