About Shell, WY
Shell, Wyoming is at the base of the Big Horn Mountains. The town was founded in the year 1886. This town has fossil shells that can be found all over and this is where the town received its name. Shell Creek is right by here. Just west of town you can see dinosaur tracks at Red Gulch Dinosaur Tracksite. They have wonderful hiking trails and fishing in the area. There are also campgrounds available in this town. Two businesses located in Shell are Dirty Annie's Country Store and Double Doc Ranch
