About Big Piney, WY
Big Piney is a part of the Sublette County region of Wyoming with an elevation of 6,824 feet. It was founded in 1879 making it the oldest settlement in Sublette County. The town has also been known as the "Ice Box of the Nation" because of the cold climate. Among the biggest companies in Big Piney are Sweet Nothings and Wyomatoes. The biggest schools here are Big Piney Elementary School and Big Piney High School. The population is 553. The documentary, (Do You Mean There are Still Real Cowboys?), focused on cattle ranching families in Big Piney and was co-produced by Glen Close.
